Disclaimer
The story is an a blend of author's imagination with the events mentioned in the original text of the Mahabharat, and the incidents shown in the tele-serials made on Mahabharat. Some of the incidents and dialogue exchange between the characters are added by the author to make the narrative more interesting. The base plot line has been kept as it was in the original text of Mahabharat.
Preface
Mahabharat has remained my most favourite epic. There is literally nothing in this world which is not there in Mahabharat. Till date, I have seen every serial, movies, dramas (which are available on youtube), made on this topic and also read the the book on Mahabharat translated by Late Shri Kisari Mohan Ganguly.
During the exile period of Pandavas, many significant incidents took place, which have been mentioned in the original version of this epic, which has not been shown in these serials to avoid high production cost to shoot such sequences. Also, there are few incidents which have been shown in the serial, Mahabharat by Sidharth Tewari (2013-2014), to make the show more attractive to the viewers. In this story, I will try to weave all these incidents along with a bits and fractions of my own imaginations and present it to you in the best possible manner I can.
The protagonist of my story is Dharmaraj Yudhishthira. Here the incidents have been described from his point of view. I chose him as the protagonist for 2 reasons:
First, among all the characters in Mahabharat, he is my most favourite character (ofcourse other than Lord Krishna).
Second, I feel the 13 years of exile was most difficult for the eldest Pandava. He was burning in the fire of self hatred as well his brothers and their dear wife Draupadi were dejected with him. The bond of trust and faith, which took many years to built, was completely shattered. His heart was filled with grief and pain, yet he could not confide it to anyone. For him this exile was an atonement for his sins he committed towards every one, he loved and hurt the most.
Hope you will like this story.
