It had been two weeks since the explosion. The zombie population had now reached 100,000 and most of the population of Europe, North america and Asia were either dead of infected. The people that were alive were secluding themselves off from the outside and either camping in a basement or making their way to either Antarctica or Australia. Recent studies had found that the zombie couldn't stand extreme temperatures. Unless they found a food source which could withstand those extremes they could consume and gain the properties from that food. This was evolution. The zombies were evolving, and fast, Listeners had become more frequent and a new race of zombie had become, splatters. These zombies had been infected for longer than the listeners and they could throw gas balls which would explode with spores. If you inhales those spores you could be infected and turn. Sky read this in a newspaper. She sighed and turned to a sleeping Alex.

Sky POV

I watched Alex sleep. He was so peaceful. His jet black hair and broad facial features. His full lips were shut and his breathing was slow and rasped. His shirt was off so she could see his body. God was he hot. Wait what... stop it Sky. A guy like Alex would never like somebody like you. hey were the same age she guessed. But she loved him, and over time her love had grew for him.

Alex POV

I awoke to sky staring at me. When she saw I was awake she looked away and blushed. I loved when she did that. I knew I loved her and over the two weeks i have been with her that love grew. I knew she didn't love me. She was way cooler than me. She said she hated the colour green and that's the colour my eyes were. I knew she hated me. Wow, I smiled... I was in deep.

Sky POV

gosh he caught me staring at him. I turned away because I didn't want to face him. He probably thought I was a weirdo. I just couldn't stare into those emerald green eyes of his. I hated the colour green but there was something about his eyes. Wow they were so beautiful. I turned back to see him smiling at me. Wow, I smiled back... I was in deep.

" Good morning " he said.

My God his voice was just so soothing. It made me forget about the approaching zombies.

"Hello" I said. Why, why had I just said hello!

He laughed, he simply just laughed. I loved him more than anything.

" So, the zombies, " He said frowning.

"Oh yeah," I snapped out of it. " They are approaching and fast, the ones we took out yesterday have seemed to come back alive, well dead... you know."

He looked shocked.

"Well I guess the theory of you must destroy the brain in order to kill it is true then. So I guess we better start packing up huh?" He said. He was being positive, I loved that.

" I guess so." I said. I started to pack up my things, knowing what lay ahead. Zombies, lot of them. And a maybe a long autumn with little food. I sighed at our situation and continued packing.
