A tired Kassie jogs down the stairs, after waking up in an empty bed, she thought maybe everyone would be in the living room. She knew her mom was at work, but she didn't expect to find the living area empty. Except she found a surprising face in the kitchen.

"Hey, Lip. I thought you went back to campus last night?" Kassie asks, opening the refrigerator to get a bottle of water. "I did. Ian went there and crashed in my bed. So I came back here" Lip answers, lying right through his teeth.

"Weird. Guest bedroom door was open when I got home"

"Came in late" he responded. "Want some breakfast? I'll make you anything" He says, changing the subject. "Yeah. I'm actually craving a fat juicy burger"

"At 7:30 in the morning?"

"Yes, Phillip. Do you have a problem with that?" Kassie asks, putting her hands on her hips, while Lip laughs. "Absolutely not. Fat juicy burger coming right up" Lip says, making his way over to the refrigerator.

"Do you know where Carl and Nick went?" Kassie asks, taking a seat at the island. "Not sure. Left right after your mom did" Lip answers, and when he doesn't get a response he looks up at the girl. "You afraid he's into shit again?"

"I have a doctors appointment at 10 o'clock and I'm afraid he's not going to be there. It's the first ever ultrasound. I don't want him to miss it, but he's not answering his phone" she ranted to Lip, who sighed. "Let me try him. And if he doesn't make the appointment, I'll come. And then I'll kick his ass" Lip says, pulling out his phone.

"Thanks, Lip. I'm gonna go shower"

"Kassandra Martin," Kassie stands up and looks around one more time before letting out a sigh and looking at Lip. Who holds a face of sympathy. "I can't go in there alone" she tells him, and he nods. "Okay," he stands up and follows her back.

"This dad? Beautiful eyes. Your baby will be very lucky" the tech asks, and says with a smile. "Uncle, actually" Lip tells her. "Either way. Beautiful blue eyes like that are hereditary" the tech flirts, and Kassie rolls her eyes.

"Do women flirt with you everywhere you go?" She whispers to him and he smirks. "Pretty much"

The beating sound of a heartbeat sounded from the small monitor next to Kassie's head, as she looked at it with a soft smile. Lip stood next to the young girl with his hands in his pockets, watching the screen.

The only thing running through his head was how much of an idiot Carl is. How could he miss this? He could only imagine what was going through Kassie's head in that moment. But he knew Isla would be thankful he took her to the appointment and stayed with her.

"There's the baby," the tech tells her, and points to the screen. "Everything is looking great, so far. You're measuring perfectly on track. About 10 weeks and 3 days. As of right now your due in May, but it's a little early to tell" the tech says, before she looks up at Lip again and bites her lip. Making Kassie cringe.

"Do you want some pictures?"

"Uh, yes, please"
