When I had woke up my throat was dry. I looked at the time, it read 2am or at least around there I got up from the couch and stretched rubbing my eyes trying to make it easier to see. Yawning I made my way to the fridge to grab a drink. I sighed seeing as most of my things have run low. I close the fridge not finding anything I preferred and settled for a glass of water. I downed it pretty quickly and looked around my room or at least of what I could see with the only light source being the tv. I sighed and place the glass in the sink before slipping on some shoes. I made my way out the door and into the hall.
I walked around aimlessly for a time before finding myself at Nuadas door. I glanced at it seeing like coming from under the door. I walked up to it and froze. "What am I even doing here really." I whisper as I hovered my knuckle over the door preparing to knock. Before I could the slider to the window opened revealing Nuada behind the door.
"I can hear you even when you whisper you know. You humans forget the us Fae have enhanced hearing and eyesight." I stopped for a moment. "Why are you hear? Even if you say you don't know; you came here. You must have had a reason?" I looked down at my hands for a moment as I withdrew one form the door.
"I really- don't know. I was walking around because I woke up and felt like going for a walk. And then I just stopped here." I looked back up at him as I finished. He didn't look angry or upset, but rather confused. I went to speak but stopped for a moment. "Can- I come in?" He raised a brow before looking behind him and nodding. He stepped away from the door and walked back into his room. I opened the door and shut it behind me as I walked in. He sat down in the same chair he was in earlier. "So, have you slept?"
"I don't sleep as often as you do. But to answer your question, no I haven't I do not need to." I nodded and stood in with my back agains the door awkwardly. "You can have a seat. I'm not going to try and escape. Rather over having many fail attempts, no thanks to you." His voice sounded teasing for once. Or maybe I just hadn't woken up fully yet.
"Just, doing what I have to." I made my way over to another chair opposite of him. I sat down and brought my legs in to sit crisscross.
"Why were you put in charge of me? Why not the red ape?" I looked at him, no quiet surre how to answer. "I did attempt to kill you many times throughout the chase on me." I shrugged. looking at the fire place next to us.
"Hellboy, found out Liz was pregnant and refused when Manning asked him. Liz obviously wasn't an option. Abe can't watch you 24/7. The doctor has experiments that he refused to leave. And Manning still doesn't trust your sister." I paused and I saw him clench his fist. Mentioning Manning doesn't trust Nuala still to this day might have not been a good idea. I continued. "I was the last one out of the group that knew how you worked. I can watch you as often as needed. I'm trusted, and while I did hate you in the beginning- and still do some; I don't have to at the current time, your sister has made up for most of your wrongs with me personally. You also haven't tried to kill me sense then, but I think that is so you don't disappoint your sister. So while I trust you I don't think its for the benefit of me really. But more for the strain it would put on your sister if you were to go through with it." I looked at him as he unclenched his fist and relaxed himself. I relaxed myself as well at this.
"I- wish to apologize then." I looked at him as he looked at me. I was taken aback for the sudden apology. "For, treating you as I have." I raised a brow. He cleared his throat and looked away. "Me and my sister spoke, and- made me realize my actions and hatred were being directed at the wrong one. For a human, I see you to be the only one- that hasn't seen me as just a monster here." I didn't speak, if he had anything else to say I didn't want to cut him off. He looked back to me. "You have shown me almost nothing but kindness and have only retaliated when I was the one instigating a confrontation. I wanted to prove my point that all humans were nothing but destroyers- hostile creatures. And for that I am sorry." He finished and let his hands relax on his lap. I couldn't help the small smile growing on my face.
"Thank you. I really appreciate you apologizing to me. I've- been trying my best to show you that while we're not perfect we can be kind. Not every human wants to cause harm. And- not every elf is perfect either, I don't mean that as an insult." I leaned forward in my chair a little smiling at him. He looked at me then to the fireplace before smiling himself. Before I could catch myself I was staring. I stared at the way the orange glow moved over his face. He was beautiful, but most elves were. This felt different though. I reached out to him but stopped half way. I pulled my hand back as he looked at me again. "I should, head back to my room." I looked at my watch to see that it was 4:30am. It didn't as that much time had passed. He stood up as I did. "I'll see you at six yeah?"
"Yes, I'll be ready for when you arrive" he walked with me to the door. And stopped a little before it. I looked back at him before walking out and closing it behind me. He walked up to the window and looked at me again before closing the slide. I made my way back to my room and prepared breakfast for myself. I sat and watched tv as I ate checking the clock every now and then excited for it to turn six.
