It felt weird packing up my little apartment. Especially so soon...but I'm ready for my fresh start. I haven't told Marin, but things haven't exactly been going my way with finding a job recently. The little shop I've been working at for years closed a few months back, but nowhere seems to be hiring. I'm kinda glad Marin has no understanding of boundaries. They really saved my ass, whether they know it or not.
I looked around at my apartment. Well, more the boxes surrounding me than the apartment itself. I've never exactly been fond of this place. I didn't have much of a choice when I moved in. All I knew was I needed to live somewhere and I was broke as hell. It's a shady place but I've gotten used to it. Who knows, I might even end up missing it.
I definitely won't miss my neighbors but
I might miss the space.
It was the first place I got to call mine.
I sighed and texted my landlord.
'Hey, I know it's really short notice but I have to move out.' I stopped typing, deciding how to word it. 'I got a job in another city. I'll be out before the end of the week. Let me know what I need to do to finalize it.'

I had packed up my kitchen, my living room, all of my clothes except one outfit, some of my bathroom, and some of my bedroom before going to bed.
The next morning, I packed my sheets, then got myself ready so I could pack the rest of my bathroom. I carefully packed my car and debated what to do with my couch. Is it worth selling? Do I have time to sell it? I shook it off, leaving the decision for later, once I've gotten my things to the ministry. As I drove I called up Marin.
"Hey Mar, you doing anything today?"
"No, Why?"
"I need help moving"
"DOES THAT MEAN YOU GOT THE JOB??!"
I nodded for a second before remembering they couldn't see me. "Yup."
"SATANAS! THEA SHE GOT IT!"
"OH MY GOODNESS!" I heard Thea squeal in the distance
I smiled to myself as I listened to their freak out. About a minute later I reached the ministry. "Come out here, Mar"
They hung up and came running to the door to help me carry boxes. There weren't too many. We each grabbed two boxes and headed inside.

That was when I realized I didn't remember where my room was. I sighed and started trying to find sister imperators office, Marin still following behind me. As we were walking, an older looking man in skull paint passed by us.
"Good morning, papa" they said
"Good morning. Who's this? I wasn't aware a sister was joining the ministry."
"She's not, she actually just got hired with the clergy!"
"The clergy?" He took a moment to think. "Oh, you must be our new Prime Mover! It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Pleasure to meet you as well, papa."
"Let me help you two," he said, grabbing a box from each of us.
"Oh, no, that's not necessary, you must be very busy"
"Nonsense, I always have time to help. Taking these to your room?"
I nodded.

It was an awkwardly silent walk, the only sound the click of papas shoes against the stone flooring.
He stopped at a door, which I recognized as the room imperator showed me. Setting down the boxes, he asked,
"Has Sister Imperator given you the key?"
I shook my head.
"Do you recall where her office is?"
I shook my head again.
"Come with me"
Marin stood by the door with my things as papa led me to imperators office. His arm intertwined with mine.
"I suppose real introductions are in order. As I assume you know, I am Papa Emeritus, but you may call me primo."
I smiled slightly. "I'm Y/N. It's a pleasure to meet you, sir."
"Sir?" He chuckled. "Oh, fiore, you needn't call me that."
I paused. "That's Italian, right?"
"Sì! Lo sai?"
"Un po. I'm pretty rusty, though." I chuckled. "I learned some in school, but haven't had a chance to practice since."
"Well, if you'll allow me, I'll help you practice. You'll have quite a bit of free time as Prime Mover."
We stopped at Imperators door.
"That sounds nice." I smiled at him before knocking
"Enter" Sister imperator called out. Primo turned the handle to the door, opening it for me. I thanked him quietly before following her commands. Primo stepped inside behind me. Imperator, standing near the door as if about to leave already, began to speak again.
"Good morning, Y/N, what brings you back so soon?"
"I need my key."
"Oh, you're moving in! That's wonderful. The more time to settle in before your big day the better." She hastily shoved the key into my palm and hurried us, and herself, back out the door, quickly walking down the hall, leaving us in complete confusion. I looked up at primo questioningly, at which he just shrugged.

As I carried boxes into my new bedroom, something caught my eye. A door in my room I had not previously noticed. The color very similar to the wall, to a point where I wouldn't have even seen it had the light not been on behind it. I set the box on the bed before curiously heading toward the door. A loud creak indicating the door wasn't used to being opened.
Beyond the door were several long, flowing dresses. The nearest to the door was a long, thin black robe with a beautifully ornate note attached to the hanger. "For the ceremony"

Authors Note (hopefully the only bc I know I hate them when I'm reading so):
I'm sorry. I suck at updating stories regularly. I've written so far ahead on this but keep forgetting to write what needs to be posted first to build up to later plot points.

Much love,
The rat
