-Anthonia! Anthonia!! Anthonia!!! Mum wants to speak with you!- my older brother, whom I hardly got along with, yelled my name from downstairs. I groaned and stood up from my bed which I had been on since I returned from school, without any form of acknowledgement of my hearing his call; that is to say that I did not answer him but I was going to meet him. Not that we were not on talking terms, I just did not feel like shouting.
-Anthonia!!!- he yelled, almost startling me. I did not even know when I yelled back.
-I am coming, dummy!!!- I yelled even louder than he could ever. I rushed out of the room without wearing my slip-on and half-ran to the living room to meet my brother with as many insulting words as I could think of at that moment. He stretched his phone towards me and I took the phone while we glared at each other.
-Asshole!- I said, immediately regretting the fact that the insult was too mild, for me. I always preferred creative insults.
-Can you just shut up and answer the phone? Baby dragon.- I scoffed with a small laugh.
-That is all you could think of? Do you think I would be offended if you call me a baby dragon? I feel flattered even, I mean I spit fire and I am stronger than you, by all means, garden gnome,- I retorted and smirked.
-Shut up and answer the phone,- he snapped, gesturing at the phone in my hands and that was only when I realized that the call had been going on since.
-Oh hey mom,- I called, placing the phone on my ear.
-Anthonia, when will you stop this beef with your brother? He is older than you for goodness sake.-
-Mum, there is no beef between us. He is just a jerk most of the time and I am not so patient enough to take that, right Viper?-
-Do not call me that in front of mum!- he whispered in a warning tone with wide eyes.
-Who is Viper?- my mum asked and I smirked at my brother.
-Your son, Saaaaj,- I said, stretching the name. My brother hated his name so much that he had to change it at school. All the students refer to him as Viper. I would have hated my name too if my parents had named me Saj, or something. I heard they went to an Asian country, probably India or Pakistan, just before my mum had my brother and they just wanted to keep a memory of where he was born. I could as well say my brother is Asian-American, or does it not work that way?
-Hand him the phone.- I gave him a toothy smile while handing him the phone.
-Mom...- he started, but I guess she did not let him finish and she was probably saying a lot of things that he would not like to hear since his expression was yunno, sad and disappointed and maybe scared. He handed me back the phone and sat down with his hands folded beneath his chest, while he glared at me with a furious but helpless expression.
-Anthonia, why did you take a cab home? Especially in the way that you did.-
-Mum there was no way you would let me go in the same car as Theodore, was there?-
-There is nothing wrong in him simply obeying my order to take you home.-
-Mum! After all that you both did to me, you are still trying to mess with my head. I can not ever have anything to do with Theodore, please. Even as a family friend, he cannot ever be close to me,- I said and my brother raised a brow.
-He will take you home from now on, give your brother back his phone.- I handed my brother his phone and stormed up the stairs. Everything sucks. What were they trying to do to me? And why could my dad not simply give Saj one of his cars to drive, or get him his? Or simply get another driver, for us alone. I slammed my door shut and fell heavily on my bed.
