2. are you dumb

By looking at my phone I broke our eye contact. Ugh Soph, why are you always so awkward? I guess I was just too scared to look at him for longer. His attractive face had me agitated.

So I was looking at my phone, with a slight smile on my face, pretending that I have some important thing going on there. Oh my, I'm such a dumb bitch.

After a while, in a corner of my eye, I was able to see Evan getting up from his chair. He'd probably already paid and he was about to leave. I put my phone down and raised my head to take a quick look at that hottie before he leaves.

And guess what. He walked towards me. There wasn't even time to panic at that point. I could feel my heart up my throat.

"Hi." Evan said, standing in front of me. His beautiful dark, almost black eyes stared me down.
" Uhm.. hey." I answered.
" I just wanted to say uh.. that you have a pretty nice shoes." he complimented me.

A nice shoes?

I expected everything but that.

I was watching him with my mouth half opened, completely taken back. Right after the compliment, he glanced at his shoes.

Oh, now I get it.

He was wearing the exact same adidas gazelle's as me. I must've looked confused af.

" Ohh, thank you! You too!" I stuttered out, still a bit stunned to speak.
" Thank you," he let out a little cute laugh,"See you around, beautiful." he uttered, with a charming grin on his face. Even though his eyes were the darkest ones I've ever seen in my life, it felt as if they lit a fire somewhere inside me.

He didn't wait for my respond and walked away. Phew. I had to admit, I knew I was gonna bump into some celebrities when I decided to move here, but Evan?! It was my dream seeing him and there I was, meeting him on my first actual day in LA. The day I flew here doesn't count, hehe.

He left me completely confused and baffled. I had such a big chance to talk to him, or to take a photo. And I did literally nothing. I was mad at myself. My feelings were so mixed, I felt happy and dissapointed at the same time. I mean, I met an actor that I have the biggest crush on, but I did nothing. You would be mad at yourself too.

But life goes on, so I finished my croissant and matcha latte and headed home.

All the plans left for the day were to go to some clubs and ask for a job. I don't even know what job should it be, but a hostess was on my mind.
You know, I'd be happy for a job of any kind.

TWO MONTHS LATER

" No way, he is horrible!" I laughed at Sharon while sitting on the sofa. We were just talking about a guy in my new work that won't leave me alone. He's nice to me, but he's just not my type. The spark simply isn't there.

" Really? Well, I'm sure you'll find someone very soon. It's a matter of days, trust me." she babbled.

Me and Sharon were getting closer each day. I really started to like her. She was one of the few people I could talk to.

" I'm not even sure if I wanna meet someone, you know. I love being single," I remarked happily,"And on top of that, I still have some unsolved business back home."

" It's good that you love being single. I'm just saying that you lure every single man to you all the time."

" Don't over exaggerate." I smirked. It felt great being flattered like that.

" I'm not." she smiled and caressed my shoulder warmly.

After our little talk I had to get ready for work. I worked mostly at nights, because I found a job at one hotel in Beverly Hills. I do there whatever is needed at the moment - sometimes I am behind the bar, sometimes I'm a waitress or a hostess.

My boss also knows about all the important events that happen here in LA and when there's a hostess needed, he always lets me take the job. I've only been to one event so far, but it was so glamourous. Apparently it was some kind of a private party but it was really lavish, so I felt honored to even be a small part of it.

That night it wasn't different. I was supposed to work as a hostess on a private birthday party of some celebrity, but I didn't know who. I asked my boss but he didn't know either. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
