"That small pouch of roots will save your entire species?" Ra'ati asks.
Ikariyu gathered a few long roots in his bag as the group journeyed back.
"No, it's only meant to save my clan."
He looks at Aywee.
"Maybe if my clan is the only one to remain, we won't have to kill so much."Both the Na'vi exchanged looks.
"I'm glad your heart has changed. Eywa must have shown you a lot!" Nikita exclaims."Oh yeah, she should me a lot!" Aywee pumps his fist in the air. "You should've SEEN my girl and I. It was like I was reliving my childhood."
The group chuckles as they exchanged stories from what they experienced. Ikariyu smiles as Ra'ati and Nikita explained theirs. A bright future and a strong bond together. They become mates before Eywa soon. Before they could get to Ikariyu, Aywee suddenly halts.
"Hold on." His head snaps to Ikariyu, his eyes glaring around.
That's when Ikariyu's ears popped up. He places both his hands on his blades.
"What's wrong?" Nikita asks, stepping closer to Ra'ati.
Ra'ati looks around the dense jungle. His hand tightens around the bow. Without a warning, Aywee jumps at the Na'vi.
"GET DOWN!" He yells, tackling both Ra'ati and Nikita as multiple arrows struck Aywee in his back.
"RAHHHH!" Ikariyu hisses, throwing one of his blades at the direction of the arrow. There was a moment of silence, then from the thick groves, a Sanghelios warrior fell forwards with a blade sticking out of his head through his mask.
Ikariyu spins around as another warrior jumps from the tree, clashing each others blades into each other. In a fury of strikes, Ikariyu slams his elbow into the other warriors neck, disabling him and allowing Ikariyu to run his blade through the attackers neck. He breathed heavily as he scanned his surroundings. If it was a hunting party, it would only be those two. If it was a war party, who knows how much more would be here.
"You good?" Aywee asks, helping the two Na'vi up. "Sorry about not giving you a warning. I hope I didn't crush ya." He smiles before collapsing to his knees.
"AYWEE!" Ikariyu calls out, running to his brothers side.
Three long arrows stuck out of his back, breaking through his armor as steams of warm red blood leaked out. Ra'ati rushes to his side, attempting to help but not knowing what to do. Ikariyu and Aywee already knew that he was finished. The arrows of Sanghelios warriors are coated in a toxin that would stop the heart in a matter of minutes.
"Speak to me brother!" Ikariyu desperately tried.
But Aywee stayed on his knees. His head hung low and arms fell limp. Ikariyu collapses next to him. Aywee's eyes were still wide open and a large smile on his face. Ikariyu couldn't believe it. No last words. No warning. His best friend is gone. Nikita covers her mouth in shock, not moving.
"Ikariyu, we must go. There might be more." Ra'ati says, standing up and grabbing Nikita's hand.
Ikariyu stands up, his face emotionless. He walked over to one of the dead warriors, cutting his chest open and splashing his blood all over Ikariyu's body. The warriors weren't from his clan, but another clan. He goes to the other warrior, pulling his second blade out of his sick, bumpy body.
"We need to get you two home." Ikariyu said as he bent down, snapping the necklace off Aywee's neck.
"No, you have no way of getting back to your clan. We'll take you on my ikran. It'll be faster."
Ra'ati insisted.Ikariyu looked at his accomplice. He doesn't know how long these Sanghelios have been in Na'vi land. For all he knows, they could've been hunting in their lands for years without the Na'vi knowing, or killing those who see them. He looked down at the necklace, tightening his grip around it.
