chapter 7 - nice thought, huh?

A girl was running. She ran and ran from something she couldn't see. Shit... Shit! No, what is going on!? She thought as she ran.

So paranormal! What was going on, there was no exit! She ran and ran for a long time.

Who saved me? I mean, it can't be Kanade. Cause she is at her house, right? She took a deep breath.

Ahh, what am I thinking!? I need to go now! Before she could run, someone behind her called after her to stop her.

"Hey, you there!" The girl turned back. Nene was standing there, staring firmly.

"Eh? Kusanagi-san?" The girl looked shocked. Nene sighed. "Ah, Kusanagi-san, were you the one who saved me?" The girl looked happy.

Nene smiled a bit. "Yes, I did. Now, where are my thanks?" She asked. "Ah! Thank you so much, Kusanagi-san!" She smiled and bowed down. Nene smiled back. She then left swiftly.

What was that thing, huh? It looked so... Strange. Maybe it was staged by Kusanagi-san? No... It was so real, I almost died! The girl stopped and started shaking.

Ah! No, Honami stop shaking! You're completely fine! She calmed herself down. I should probably check on Kanade, she thought, picking her pace up toward Kanade's house.

Kanade was in her room, sighing. "Ahh, I'm so stuffed after eating that big bowl of ramen Mizuki gave me at the shop..." She exclaimed softly.

"It was good though, they know me well." She was laying on her bed. She heard a knock on her door. She got up, stretched, and headed toward the door.

"Ah, Mochizuki-san..." Kanade let her in. "I just wanted to check how you were, Kanade." She smiled as she prepared some food for Kanade.

"Ah, thank you. Like the first time we met, I collapsed on the floor... If it weren't for you, I would've probably been dead." Kanade frowned as she remembered herself in the hospital.

Honami smiled. "Hehe, I'm glad about that. I'm glad I saved someone like you." Honami started preparing some tea. The tea had steam leaking out of the small mug as Kanade looked over at Honami's finger.

So she's not a magical girl yet?  Kanade looked down. Once Honami had made Kanade's tea, it still was steaming hot, so she put it down before it could burn her fingers. It was glistening as the sun was slowly going down right into Kanade's eyes. She squinted at the light.

The Yoisaki household was clean, with clean dishes, and a clean floor, and it sometimes sparkled. If it wasn't for Honami keeping Kanade's house - besides her room, - clean, then the entire house would probably be rotting by now. In the hallways, there were pictures of Kanade's family. Her mom, her dad, and her three adoptive siblings. The first room on the left is Saki Tenma's room, and the one across it is Tsukasa Tenma's room. Then, behind Saki's room is Kanade's messy room. And across it is Toya Aoyagi's room. They all moved in with Kanade after they adopted each other as siblings.

Soon Kanade drank Honami's tea after it cooled down. "How was the tea?" Honami asked, turning around with a motherly tone. Kanade smiled. "It was good." Honami nodded. "Thanks, Yoisaki-san!"

After an hour, Honami waved goodbye. "Bye, Yoisaki-san," Honami left, and then it was quiet. Saki was practicing songs with Leo/Need, Tsukasa is practicing for a show in WonderlandsXShowtime, and Toya is doing a show with his partner, Akito Shinonome, Ena's brother.

Kanade always wondered. What if she died? Would her past purpose to save Mafuyu be impossible? She sighed as she walked into her messy room, and fell into her bed.

Kanade kept sighing. There's no way I'm gonna survive for long. Wait... Mafuyu is supposed to die today! I have to get over there!

Kanade ran out and saw the labyrinth, and jumped right into it. She landed, walked, and walked around. She found the spot.

Mafuyu was waiting there, waiting for the witch to hatch. Kanade hid near the top of the labyrinth, where nobody could see her.

Kanade watched from above as Mafuyu fought the witch, and Kanade was seeing she was not doing good. Kanade took out her bow and shot the witch, as she stopped time to put more shots at it.

Resuming time, Kanade saw that the arrows she shot into the witch killed it instantly.

Mafuyu was in shock, but it was quite expected. She looked around, calling if anyone was there.

The labyrinth wilted. I need to find Kyubey, right now! Kanade ran off to find the little white figure.

Kyubey was on a bench, waiting for someone. Kanade brought out her blade and walked towards him.

"Ah, Kanade, what brings you here?" Kyubey kept his same old face.

"To see you suffer." Kanade grimly said to him. She stared at him.

"What's the reason for that?" Kyubey asked. He tilted his head at the magical girl in front of him. Kanade grabbed his neck and lifted him high. "You lied to us. You lied to us, magical girls!" She yelled.

Kyubey choked a bit. Kyubey was alive and well but didn't say a word. He stayed silent.

Kanade grasped her sword and stabbed it through Kyubey. He gagged out blood, falling to the ground.

Kanade stepped back and tossed her hair backward. She didn't want anything to do with this creature. She saw it return. "Kanade. It's a shame I have to waste these copies of my body..." He gobbled up his remains.

Kanade stared in disgust. She watched him eat his dead remains. This is crazy.

She looked around. I need to find a way to kill Kyubey. He can't lie to anyone else!

Kanade realized that time was backward here. It was all progressing at the same time, but also not. Saki's death is next! Kanade got up and ran toward a labyrinth where she died in.

Honami got up. She felt sicker than usual. She decided she was going to make some tea for herself.

As she got up, she heard something behind her. "Who's there!?" She turned around and saw Kyubey.

"Hello, Honami Mochizuki." Kyubey nodded his head. "How do you know my name!?" Honami yelled.

"I want you to make a contract with me..." He started. "And become a magical girl!" Kyubey flicked his tail happily.

Honami looked around. "For what cost?" She asked. "If you become a magical girl, I will grant you one wish, and you will fight witches and protect this town."

Honami thought for a moment. I've been sick for a year. Honami thought to herself. And I've gotten worse... Well, I guess I can try.

"I wish to—" Honami got interrupted.
