chapter 4 - why cant i just stop?

After class, Kanade was in her room.

I've done this month over and over again. There's no way I'm able to stop this stupid shit.

"Kanade." Kyubey walked in. Kanade lifted her head to the creature.

"You lied. You tricked us into being your slave! Is there any way I can stop? You just tricked us all!"

Kanade yelled. Kyubey stepped back a bit. "Oh my. Well, there is no way to stop going back in time and just go back in time to when you didn't make your wish."

Kyubey sat down by the door. "Why do you wanna go back so bad?" He asked.

"Because Niigo was never created, Mafuyu calls Mizuki a freak, and both Ena and Mafuyu have no idea who I am! I want them to know, especially Mafuyu! I love her!" Kanade cried. "But they have no idea who I am! No idea at all! I want to undo this wish!"

Kanade was sobbing. Kyubey sighed deeply. "If you form the same bond with Mafuyu that you had in the past, and stop restarting. That's the best hope for what you want. Unless you want to die."

Kanade stared. How could she just stop and go back in time to when Mafuyu died?

That would be way better so that she knew who Kanade was. "Sorry, Kanade. That's the only option. Die, or stop restarting."

Kyubey looked at Kanade firmly.

Kanade looked at him, with tears in her eyes.

Kanade went up to the roof and found Mizuki there. Well, that's unexpected. I forgot Mizuki came up here to skip classes.

"So you're here to jump too?" The question from Mizuki startled Kanade.

"Huh? What do you mean? I wouldn't—" Kanade got cut off by Mizuki.

"I know you want to disappear. I know that we were Niigo. I'm not brainwashed by your wish." Mizuki turned and stared at her.

"Mizuki... How do I fix this?!" Kanade cried. She ran to Mizuki and hugged them.

"Mafuyu and you are supposed to be dead! How do I do this?!" Kanade cried.

Kanade fell off of Mizuki when a bang was heard. Mizuki fell back, with a shot in their shoulder.

That's right... Mizuki has lower pain tolerance... Kanade thought. Mizuki wasn't even a magical girl yet they were already hurt. Kanade widened her eyes.

She looked behind her to see Haruka sitting on a bench with a gun in her hand.

I see her intentions. I'll just act like Mizuki's dead.

"You..." Kanade turned in anger.

"Hehe! Wow, you thought Mizuki would stay alive? Imagine." Haruka got off the bench and walked to Kanade.

Kanade tightened her fists. "Pathetic ass," Haruka smirked.

"Why did you kill them? You know that they did nothing!"

Kanade brought out her soul gem. She transformed and grabbed her sword and held it tightly.

"Oh, so we're gonna fight now? Well, bring it on!" Haruka gripped her gun and shot at Kanade.

Kanade dodged out of the way, sprinting to the side.

She sprung into the air and tried to blow at Haruka. Haruka rolled away, but she got a sharp hit on the side of her torso.

"Gah!" Haruka screamed. She fell on the floor but soon got up.

"I'm not giving up yet!"

She shot Kanade's arm and flipped in the air. Kanade dodged the shot with her sword, the ammo flying back toward Haruka.

Haruka didn't see it coming but slid just in time. Kanade sighed.

She heard someone coming up the stairs. It was Nene and Mafuyu.

"Damnit!" Haruka hid away, making it seem like Kanade killed Mizuki, but she was over by their body, bandaging up Mizuki.

"What happened to Akiyama?" Mafuyu said, rushing over with Nene. "They got shot by Haruka." Haruka was still in her magical girl costume when they glared at her, with a gun.

She scoffed and jumped into the tree.

Kanade lowered her gaze back to Mizuki. It was at least their shoulder, and Haruka thought it was their chest.

She's dumb. Well, at least Mizuki isn't dead.

Mizuki soon woke up in the hospital next to Kanade. "Gahh! Oh, it's just you, Kanade."

Mizuki took a sigh of relief and sat back down in the hospital bed. "That shot that Haruka did was painful, huh?" Kanade asked.

"Well... Yeah, it did hurt a bit. But it wasn't all that bad, Kanade! Don't worry about it!" Mizuki brushed it off their back and laughed.

Kanade looked at them sincerely, then looked to the side.

How long ago did I go through? I mean it's obvious that my father was still in the hospital, but his bed was moved, right? Well, that means I can go visit him at this moment.

"I'm gonna go visit my father. Not long before you died, I believe that his hospital bed got moved. So it was near here..."

When she saw Mizuki's nod, she sat up and walked around.

Number 578, 579, 580, and... There! 585.

Kanade rushed into her dad's room. He was awake.

"Ah, Kanade..." He whispered. Kanade walked to him. I'm glad he remembers me. Kanade thought silently.

"Hi, father." Kanade smiled at him.
