I guess she doesn't see me at first because she gets out and begins walking torwards the coffee shop.

As soon as I got out of the car, she was already inside the coffee shop sitting in one of the leather chairs eagerly waiting for me.

"You finally got here!" She says as we embrace and I sit down.

"I finally got here? I have been waiting for you forever!" I say.

"Oh," she replied.

"So, why did you want me to meet you here?" I ask hoping that I hadn't waited all this time for something stupid.

"Well," she said as her tone for very excited, "I got into Yale! The college of my dreams! But, I am leaving in a month," she said losing her enthusiasm in that last sentence.

"Wow!" I say trying to hide my sadness from Naveah. She is leaving me all alone to try and handle life in just a month. "That's awesome, you are going to have such a great time!" I finished thinking about all the colleges I have been rejected by.

"Yeah it is-

Ring ring ring

I pick up my phone and recognize the number as my dads phone number. I show Naveah the number and she does that gesture with her hands that is like, go ahead. So I walk away from Naveah and pick up my phone.

"Hello? Dad, why did you call?" I say sort of glad to not be talking to Naveah about college.

"Hey Abby, come home soon, and when I say soon I mean now," he said in his low and gruff voice.

"Why?" I ask.

"Your little sister misses you and your stepmom came home from Canada," he said as I felt sick in my stomach, "and don't tell me you are out with that boyfriend of yours again," he says as I put on my "parents don't get it" face.

"Okay" I replied as I hung up.

I told Naveah the situation and she understood. I walked up the huge glass doors and pushed them open.
