The lake was silent and still on the surface, but rapid and loud underneath. I feel that's how people can be, they come across normal and chill, but in the inside their minds are exploding with thoughts, and their nervousness taking over their soul. That's the way things are with me, it's like no one understands, not even Naveah, not even Joe.

"Hello?" Said Joe as I snapped back to reality, "you coming?" He continued as I realized we were on the dock and he was starting up his little boat.

"Oh yeah sorry," I said with a brief pause in the middle, "just thinking about... stuff," I finished.

Joe took my hand and my whole body felt warm and tingly inside. I cautiously got into the boat and sat down as it rocked around a bit. We began drifting away, heading towards an island in the middle of the ocean. Norris Island, me and Joes island, where we could just be alone amongst the trees.

As we got closer to the island, I looked down into the water. Seaweed was everywhere, however, below that was a world of beauty and many of life's mysteries. Creatures roamed below, free as can be. Not locked up in a cage of drama.

As we continued our journey to the island, I gazed into Joes eyes. They were as deep as the ocean below us, you could get lost in those eyes. In fact, the second you saw them you could be hypnotized. I almost-

BANG!

The boat slammed into a rock on the side of the island. Joe gestured his hand out to me and I blushed as I grabbed ahold of his.

We stepped out of the boat and began walking down the sandy shore. My hair blew every which way in the vaguely familiar wind.

"Naveah, she um," I started, "got into college," I finished sighing at the end.

"Oh that's great," he replied as he stopped walking.

I stopped to, he turned towards me and I did the same. Next thing I knew his lips were on mine, gentle and soft.
