Where is she? She is supposed to be here already.

I scan the coffee shop in search for my best friend Navaeh. My eyes move from the glass doors to the counter bustling with eager customers and then to the two chairs with their worn out red leather in the corner next to the small fireplace sharing a table. That's where Naveah and I would usually sit. I look at the menu, not that I could read it because of my dyslexia. I step over to the tables not even realizing I had moved forward. All I see are strangers. Just strangers, no Navaeh.

I focus my eyes back on the door waiting for her to come in. I smooth my long, straight black hair and rub my deep green eyes. I wonder why she wanted to meet me here. Maybe she was in trouble (being the nineteen year old she is) or she could have-

"Ma'am," a male waiter says with concern in his eyes, " Are you okay? You have been here for a while and haven't done anything except for pacing back and forth," he finished his eyes locking to mine.

" I am fine, I am meeting someone here and she hasn't showed up," I reply unlocking my eyes from his powerful gaze.

" Oh, tell me what she looks like, maybe she is here," he says.

"Trust me, she is definitely not here. I could recognize her anywhere," I reply hoping this dull conversation is coming to an end.

"Oh okay, let me know if there is anything I can do for you." He says sheepishly walking away.

I sat for quite some time checking every nook and cranny of this small coffee shop. My eyes had become tired of looking in the same old places so I decided to go out on the sidewalk.

As soon as I stepped out, the brisk summer wind brushed across my pale face and the smell of French fries from the neighboring fast food restaurant filled the air.

I looked at my surroundings and saw the usual vending machines and trash cans that always seem not being used properly based on the trash flowing in the parking lot and street. The cars of all different colors zoom by so all you see is a blur. The neighboring restaurants and boutiques were bustling with customers of all different shapes and sizes. Out of the corner of my eye I see a girl. I turned around and was shocked at what I saw. She looked about 17. In her hand she was holding a cigarette and puffing smoke out of her mouth. Her arms were covered with tattoos, most of them skulls and crossbones. She was wearing a crop top and those shorts that show half of your butt. I hope I will never be like her. The horrid smell of the smoke reached my nose and I let out a horrendous cough as I inhaled it. I quickly went back in to the coffee shop.

I saw the same plain old things as before except for the fact there were less customers. I have been waiting here for over thirty minutes and my patience already ran out.

I walked out of the shop an got in the rusty car I am stuck with for now and started it up. I had only gotten one millimeter out of the parking space when I saw a familiar red Ferrari pull up with Naveah sitting in the drivers seat.
