Chapter 3

                                                                                         Gill

Tsunami's head swivelled around to see gill frozen in place, staring at tsunami like he was trying figure something out and had just found out the answer. And tsunami was his answer. Tsunami circled back around to stare into his deep dark green eyes. "What's wrong? Why did you stop?" She flashed in aquatic at him. Gill turned to her and flared his wings open trying to signal "family", and then pointing to her and then himself and back. Tsunami tilted her head and desperately tried to figure out what he was saying. Gill suddenly stoped and rubbed his temples. he tried to open his mouth and speak, but only bubbles fumed out of his mouth, creating a wall of bubbles in front of his face. Tsunami swatted at the bubbles, and accidentally smacked him in the face. Gill brought his head back, while kicking backwards. Tsunami grabbed his horns and pulled him through the cloud of bubbles so she could see him again. He peeled her talons of his horns and shook his head. He signalled to keep going, and drifted into the current again. He turned his head to tsunami and beckoned her to follow. 

Then gill tilted his wings and he picked up speed, within seconds he was disappearing behind a coral reef, on his way to the deep palace. Tsunami slipped into the current as well, flaring her wings to catch up with him. Gill's green tail was propelling him forwards in the water, as well as the current. Tsunami swam as hard as she could and finally passed him, then she whipped her head and stuck her pink forked tongue out at him. He gave her a surprised, then competitive look. He shot forwards and almost immediately passed her, but tsunami was ready "oh, no you don't squid-brain!" She flashed and propelled her self forward. Gill smiled and shot forward as well. They were head to head for a while, and then tsunami got ahead by a bit, then gill pulled her tail back behind him, to take the lead. "Foul play!" She cried smacking gill on the side of the head with her tail.He ducked away from her smiling, and he turned his head in the direction they were going. He stopped racing with tsunami, and because of that tsunami took the lead. 

Gill pointed, and tsunami stoped. Gill jumped out of the current and swam towards a dark looming shape at the bottom of the sea. "Gill, how did you know where it was? Have...have you been there before?" Tsunami asked. Gill turned and nodded, then he began to swim faster to the palace. Tsunami caught up to him and grabbed his arm. "C'mon. the queen's changed things around since the last time you were probably here. I'll show around!" She flashed. He looked at her with surprise. Coral doesn't usually change things around all that much, except for her dragonet care guards, and the school curriculums. So what was she doing now? Gill suddenly had a horrible thought, has anemone...killed coral?  Gill couldn't believe it. What if she had? Oh coral. Coral was such a good ruler, how could anyone want to kill her? That's it. Anemone wouldn't do that. If she's really alive. Coral's safe. I hope. Gill thought hopefully. Tsunami grabbed his tail and yanked him along. Gill thwacked her with his wing but tsunami bit into it with her teeth and shook it away from her. Gill tried to yowl in pain, but it just went up in a flurry of bubbles. 

He took his wing away from tsunami's mouth and used it to shake away the bubbles. Then he brought over to his face to inspect the bite mark. He licked it gently to wipe away the blood, and then tucked his wing behind his back. He lifted his head to see the deep palace beginning to take shape and detail. Gill pulled his tail out from tsunami talons and spun around to right himself. He gave tsunami a gruff look, who responded with a quick yank of the tail, and gill was sent shooting forward in the water like a torpedo. Luckily, tsunami grabbed his ear and pulled him towards her before he smashed into a coral reef. Then he realized he was not so lucky as the shear pain of her yanking on his ears, came to his realization. He kicked backwards in the water, and tried to pull away. tsunami let go and then began swimming toward the deep palace. Gill spun around and sped up to tsunami, so soon enough he was right beside her. Tsunami looked at him and beckoned him to come along, then she sped forward into the deep palace. Gill nodded, and swam after her. Most of seawings poked their heads out of their underwater caves and balconies, some froze where they were and bowed tho tsunami, while turned and bolted the moment they saw her. Gill looked at her with a questionable look, and tsunami flashed back at him "I'm very....close to the queen".

 Then she suddenly turned and swam upwards to the biggest cave in the deep palace. This wasn't here before. Gill remembered. Tsunami swam inside and bowed before a medium sized dragon who was pale blue with pink under scales and wings. She turned her head and stared at gill suspiciously. The pink and blue dragon looked at tsunami and smiled, then tsunami stood and walked over to the dragon. They nuzzled snouts and then twined each others tails. Tsunami flashed at the female dragon "Hello. How is my daughter. Has she hatched yet?" The dragon shook her head and flashed "no, but very close. You should go see her. Go see your daughter for when she hatches." Tsunami nodded. "Oh. Gill" she said turning her head to him. "Meet Queen Anemone." Gill froze. Anemone? Queen Anemone? Coral must be dead! Anemone... that's what coral planned to call our hatched dragonet. Is this my daughter??? Gill thought frantically. Queen Anemone's face went pale when tsunami said "gill". "Gill? That's...that's his name?" The queen asked. "Yes" tsunami answered turning her head to her. "Guards!" She flashed swimming to the edge of the cave. Three burly guards swam up to the cave followed by a fourth. 

They bowed before the queen and raised an eyebrow at gill. "Put this one in one of the underwater dungeons" she flashed. All the guards nodded and grabbed gill. Gill opened his mouth and tried to shriek but he was underwater. Plus there was that whole spell and all. Tsunami swam forward but anemone pulled her back "tsunami." She flashed gripped tsunami forearm.  "It's for his own good. I'll release him later. Ok?" Tsunami nodded. "Go check on your daughter." anemone flashed. And with that tsunami swam over the edge and disappeared. No. Gill thought sadly. Coral is dead. My daughter is imprisoning me. My other daughter is letting her. Gill thought sadly. Gill was so tired from swimming all the way here from the sky palace he just fell into the guards arms and they threw him over their shoulders, none too gently. Gill's wing caught on the burly guard's horns and the guard shook him off sending bright notions of pain shooting through his wing. A trickle of blood began floating in and around the water and gill lifted his head painfully. The guard who was carrying him hit him with his tail and flashed "coward" in gill face. Gill lay back down, too tired to fight back. Queen Anemone grabbed the guard who had flashed "coward" by the wrist and flashed "pike. Be gentle. But knock him out so he doesn't escape. I need to interrogate him later." The guard named pike nodded and grabbed a large rock from the ocean floor. "Want to do the honours?" He flashed throwing the rock at the dragon who was holding him. "Absolutely" he flashed back giving gill a toothy grin. Pike...he is my...my son. That Was gill's last thought before the guard raised the rock above his head, and brought it down on the side of gill head so painfully, everything went dark in a matter of seconds.
