It was days,after the two started officially dating. Stephan had been struggling with the incident he witnessed of somebody killing himself in front of him. Nick had sleepless nights because Stephan would wake up from his nightmares scaring the shit out of Nick. He often saw the man's spirit come up to him with a gun Wanting to shoot him before he wakes up. One rainy and stormy night , Nick had just come home from work and noticed a stressed Stephan sitting on the sofa and staring at the ceiling with a worried look on his face. Nick was spooked out a bit and worried at the same time. He changed quickly wondering what could be troubling Stephan too much. He also noticed that when he saw a knife or had a gunshot, he'd freak out and run to his bedroom. They have defensive classes where they are taught how to use things like guns and knives in times of danger but Stephan didn't sign up for that because of his trauma. Nick was done with his shower and was busy preparing dinner , as it was busy cooking he went to check on him to see what was wrong
Nick : honey, what's wrong ? I'm worried about you. Did something happen sweet heart please
Stephan : I just can't get that incident out of my head. The thought of somebody killing himself still hunts me nick. I'm I going insane ?
Nick : no sweet heart its just a trauma and I completely understand my love. Come on let's cheer you up ok
Nick knew how to make Stephan happy again. He was busy making jokes , danced to a slow song and Stephan fell asleep on his laps. He gently picked him up as they headed for bed. Stephan had his nightmares again but cooled down after nick sang him a lullaby kissing him before he fell Asleep again. Nick was still active though so he watched YouTube videos till two in the morning where he fell asleep. Not long after , Stephan felt thirsty and headed downstairs to get a glass of water. He was coming up stairs when he noticed the front door was open. Fearing for the worst, he locked it and began searching for the intruder. The intruder was hiding behind the fridge when he suddenly pounced on Stephan and began hitting him. Stephan was strong and had practiced martial arts so he easily overpowered the thief. Not long after he gained his strength and tackled Stephan again this Time slightly cutting his arm. The scream woke nick who called the police before heading downstairs where he beat the man disfiguring his face scaring Stephan at how angry he can be. The police arrived and nick took Stephan to hospital as the police apprehended the criminal. Stephan got better and nick couldn't help crying when he recovered
Nick : that was so brave of you. You should have woke me up
Stephan : I didn't want you getting hurt
Nick : I don't mind getting hurt. You almost died. I was lucky enough to be awake at that time. Please don't do that again with no one to protect you who knows what might have happened
Stephan : we are both lucky to be alive though
As they watched the news the next night they were surprised that that was the most wanted serial killers of all times. Nick was even prouder that Stephan managed to fight him off even though he was slightly hurt but glad to be Alive nonetheless. He was super scared especially when he heard of the recently committed murders the guy made and glad they were alive
