Hi Guys,

I am still searching for a native speaker to check the chapter befor I update here :)

"Well, a lot has really happened and a lot has changed. You should know that. ..."
What exactly should have changed? New colleagues? New techniques? Derek didn't really understand what it was all about, but he was in good spirits about doing a good job. So much couldn't have changed in five years. The black-haired added in thought and then looked back at his new/old boss."So Derek, we've already sorted that out with the forms. Would you like to be shown around again or introduced?"
It was a nice gesture that Richard was offering, but he figured it would work just as well without it."I think it will be fine, thanks Richard. Just one more thing."
"Yes?"
"During my first visit, you mentioned something about things having changed. What exactly did that mean?"Derek, you have to find out for yourself, I won't say anything about personnel from a technical point of view and everything has remained the same as far as the way of working is concerned."
Derek nodded, still uncomprehending he just couldn't think of what Richard was alluding to. And again the head of the hospital tore him out of his thoughts.
"Well, Derek, I wish you a pleasant first day at work. Good cooperation."Once again they shook hands and Derek went to the door to step out.He didn't turn around but went straight out. Even before he went to Richard he had changed. Dark blue trousers, an equally dark blue T-shirt and a white coat. So now he was officially back. He was the head of neurosurgery again, living in Seattle again, back in his trailer in the woods.
But none of that harmed him, he didn't think it was bad. In fact, he was enjoying his life here a lot better than the old one with Addison.
But then it occurred to him that he didn't know how his old colleagues would react. And how she would react.
He had decided against her then, he had gone with Addison and it had been the biggest mistake of his life. It had been a flop, they both should have known better. But he had gone with better knowledge and after the first few days he missed Meredith. But that didn't make it any better, she certainly had a boyfriend, maybe even a husband. If she still worked here at all, Derek thought to himself. She should almost be done with her residency by now.
With a slight smile, he also wondered what she might have chosen as her specialty. Was it neurosurgery? Or if she would follow in her mother's footsteps.
Derek was still standing in front of Webber's office door and decided to walk a little further away. He then saw the place where he had stood so many times during his time here in the hospital. He ignored other people and leaned against the railing.
He supported both arms and looked straight ahead until he noticed something. Just a few meters away from him was a man leaning against the railing. He also wore a smock and blue clothes, which means he was a doctor here. But Derek knew that he knew this man, he looked very familiar to him. Derek turned completely in his direction and then he saw the man's face."No." he said. It was unbelievable for him. That couldn't be, he told himself over and over again before he walked up to him.Derek was now standing a meter away from him and the other hadn't noticed it yet. He was still staring ahead, thinking.
"Mark." Derek said and then the dark blonde turned to the side."Derek? What are you doing here?"
"What am I doing here? The better question is what are you doing here in Seattle?""Work. And how do you see me now?"
"Why are you in Seattle? Why didn't you stay somewhere in New York?""Now listen." Mark wasn't very angry, he also smiled a bit but that seemed very inappropriate. At least Derek was getting angrier.
But before Derek could say anything, two residents walked past him. Baily was only able to introduce her to him later because she was having surgery with someone else. He thought again before speaking to her."Kepner, Avery, wait a minute." Mark was glad he remembered the name. The redhead was Kepner and the man was Avery.
Both stopped abruptly and turned to Mark, next to whom Derek was standing."What's up Doctor Sloan," Avery said easily"You know Yang's residents right, don't you?"Both nodded synchronously."Do you know where Gray is?"From then on they had piqued Derek's interest. But why should Meredith be Yang's resident? Derek had to find his feet again, maybe that's what Richard had meant. He wanted to know as much as possible, even if it meant listening to Mark."I have no idea, she wasn't assigned to Cristina's today. But she seemed a bit upset." April then said as an explanation for her stay."How do you actually know her? I mean, you haven't worked with her yet, have you?""Avery, you're pretty curious." Laughed Mark.Derek stood by the whole time and watched what was happening. Nobody asked who he was and so he could concentrate on Meredith for the first time."We were having drinks and now I can't find her anywhere."Derek had heard the undertone in Mark's voice, he couldn't forget that tone. If he was drinking, that also meant they had slept together. Now he has the man in front of him even more and the black-haired man couldn't help but swing out and punch Mark.
