Carmen's POV

I had just walked into the kitchen when Melissa came in through the door with Everlene. "Uncle Carmen!!" Everlene exclaimed happily when she saw me. I picked her up, smiling at how excited she was to be visiting.
"I have to leave for a business trip tomorrow and I was hoping you would be able to take care of her...?" Melissa spoke, worried her hope would be ruined. "Yeah, I can take care of her for you."
Ace walked into the room. "And I can help you with that." She said, moving some hair out of Everlene's eyes.
"Auntie!!" Everlene squealed happily.
"Hey, sweetie" Ace smiled, gently taking her from me. They both giggled, possibly planning their ideas on how to absolutely torment me.
"Well, I should get going. See ya in two weeks." And with that, Melissa left.
