My hand grips the jagged end of the broken branch in front of me. At this point I was so high in the tree that the Jarv was now  below me, giving me the perfect advantage point. The high trees are my favorite part of the middle land. They have provided me shelter many times.

"Help please!! Someone, help!" The young boy cried. I almost missed his pleading because of the loud deep growls that the jarv was giving off it was in fighting position and ready to pounce at any moment. It's large teeth were bared making it seem fearful and aggressive. Once I scanned the.

If I don't do something the crying boy will die a pitiful death. Feeling around in my pockets I picked up I felt the cold, smooth glass vile that had a nub of Cork plugged in the top. I swirled around the dark liquid that almost looked like blood.  Well it is blood just not a human's that is.

It's from these trees they seep a dark red liquid that is said to be the blood of the fallen. The soldier that died here. If  injected it instantly causes unconsciousness. With this whole vile it should be enough to knock the Jarv straight on his ass.  I only wish it wasn't going to waste.

In all my years saving this I never thought I would be the hero using it. It's almost comical really, I was going to use some on the bakery owner in town to steal some bread.

Now that wouldn't be very heroic would it?

I was torn from my thoughts by a large screech, it was so loud it could make your ears bleed. The Jarv was quickly getting more agitated, the vines had almost completely shielded the boy.

I gathered the fabric at the end of my dress and tore it with little effort. I don't own the finest apparel in the kingdom.

I wrapped it just under the head of my arrow that I retrieved from my back. I tied it securely and quickly sunk it deep into the vile letting the dirt stained cloth absorb the deep red color.

Once it was covered it got in the bast stance I could while being tangled in these winding branches. With a deep breath I drew back the bow and waited for the right moment. The Jarv was furious and was being younger by the screaming of the unseeable boy. When it's mouth opened to let out another ear ringing screech I took the opportunity.

I let the arrow fly aiming it directly in the mouth of the creature. As soon as it made contact the Jarv snapped it's gigantic jaws closed and froze for a moment before letting out a growl like sound and soon fell to the ground unconscious.

I stayed in my position for a moment and watched the beast as it later still on the ground, almost lifeless.

A squeal like scream lured me down to the ground. I swiftly climbed down the branches like I was familiar with them.

Once I got low enough I jumped down and landed into a barrel roll before I quickly gained my footing, ready to make my escape.

"Stop in the name of the king" I heated the boy say. This is why I never take pity on any of these men. They are nothing better than the king himself.

I shook my head and glanced over my shoulder only to see the boy free with his sword drawn, and slowly approaching me.

I shook my head in retreat, I should have just let the Jarv eat him. As I continued to walk in the other direction I could hear him pick up his pace before he was a short distance from me. "Stop! Turn around and face me!" He said trying to deepen his voice, as if I didn't just hear him screaming a few minutes ago.

I slowly turned around, "now that's no way to treat your hero now is it." I said with a raised eye brow and a smirk on my face. Normally I am one of a few words but he seemed pretty harmless.

"You were the one who shot the arrow?" He questioned with a sarcastic tone, almost as if he did not believe me.

I nodded before he could react I quickly pulled out another arrow and my bowZ I quickly aimed at him in one swift motion.  He was taken aback by my speed.

"If it wasn't up to your standards I could always practice my aim on you" I said in a monotoned voice.

He raised his arms in surrender, quickly showing his true colors.

Smart, I would have not hesitated if he tried anything.

"I'm sorry,  I was just told by my commander that the people out here are not to be trusted and to be watchful of any lingering individuals." He said in a scared tone.

"Form what I remember I was trying to leave, not linger" I stated while gripping the bow tighter.

"Look I'm not harm I promise, I'm not even apart of the guard yet. I'm Milo, and thank you. Really." He pleaded while giving me the smallest and unsure smile.

"I didn't ask your name" I stated ready for this interaction to be over with.
He really needs to make up his mind one minute he is threatening me with his sword he can't hold properly, and the next he is trying t get to know me. One thing about me is that I don't take well with the high ranking individuals in this kingdom.

He is just a child and obviously has not much prior training before they dumped him here. They are really lowering the standards.

I sighed and relaxed the bow before putting the arrow in my pack on my back. With that I turned leaving the boy. I won't shoot him but he is still on his journey and I'm not helping him.

"Wait, what's your name?"
