"You know, I thought we were going to go jogging today," Jesse said, after fifteen minutes of neither of them talking.

"Do you want to go jogging?" Dylynn asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Not really," Jesse admitted. He stared at his feet.

Dylynn sighed, knowing the futility of a treatment when she'd seen one. "Okay, we're done for today. You can go."

Jesse frowned. "Are you sure?"

"We've been up here for fifteen minutes. Our session is done," Dylynn said, rubbing her head. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"You want to know why I'm upset?" Jesse fired suddenly. Dylynn flinched, having not expected his outburst.

"Go ahead," she said, trying to regain her composure. She swallowed, not knowing what to expect next.

Jesse opened his mouth and no sound came out. He closed it, eyes flickering to the floor. "I..." he began and then trailed off.

Dylynn's cell phone rang, loudly. She winced as she reached into her bag to answer it. "Hello?"

"Hey Dyl." Derek's voice answered. "What's up?"

"Nothing much," she replied. "I'm with a patient right now, actually."

"Oh, is it a bad time?" Derek asked.

Glancing at Jesse and understanding he wasn't going to talk, Dylynn sighed. "No, go on. What's this about?"

"Damien called. When are you seeing Jesse? He needs to listen to this as well."

Dylynn bit her lip and glanced at Jesse once more. She raised an eyebrow when she realized he was glaring rather pointedly at the floor. "He's with me right now, actually."

"Oh, can you put me on speaker then?" Derek asked.

"I can't, we're in the middle of a session right now. Is it urgent?" she asked.

"It is."

Dylynn sighed and brought the phone down. "Jesse, do you mind if we pause for a second? Derek wants to talk about something."

"Yeah, sure, go ahead," Jesse said snarkily.

"What the hell is up with you today?" Dylynn demanded, her frustration getting the better of her. "You have been in this pissy, sour mood ever since I mentioned why we were up here!"

"Hasn't it occured to you that I don't want to talk?" Jesse shouted.

"Then don't talk!" Dylynn shouted back. "I never said it had to be today!"

"Then can we move on from this idiocy and do something that's actually going to help me?" Jesse yelled.

Dylynn opened her mouth to yell back when she realized it wasn't going to help and closed her mouth again. "No."

"What do you mean, no?" Jesse asked, angrily.

"We're going to stay up here until you crack and I don't care how long that takes," Dylynn snapped. She put Derek on speaker. "Go, Der."

Derek hesitated. "You guys okay?"

"We're fine," she said icily. "What is going on?"

"Damien texted me about twenty minutes ago and said he was on his way to Silver Springs with big news," Derek said. "He said he told Kacey because he wasn't sure she could make it from Ashburn tonight."

"Do you know what it entails?" Dylynn asked.

"No, but I think it has something to do with Juliette."

"Okay, well where are we meeting?" Dylynn asked.

"My place," Derek said.

"Okay, I'll be on my way as soon as I'm finished here. I should be about a half hour," Dylynn replied. "See you soon." She hung up and stared at Jesse. "Are we done here?"

Jesse bit his lip. "Can I just live up here?"

Dylynn laughed. "No, sorry. No one's supposed to know this exists."

"All right, we can go. I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier. I was just frustrated." Jesse looked straight at her.

"I'm sorry too," Dylynn admitted. "But we've got to work together if you want to get back to where you used to be."

"I know," Jesse said.

"So let's put this afternoon past us and just head over to Derek's, okay?" Dylynn asked.

"Okay," Jesse agreed.

-

"So what's going on?" Jesse asked as he and Dylynn stepped through Derek's front door.

Dylynn stared at her boyfriend, raising an eyebrow. "Der, you look like death warmed over."

Derek shook his head bleakly. "You can't go to school anymore."

"What? Why not?" Dylynn asked wildly, her mind racing. What did Derek mean by that? What did Juliette have planned? Why was she feeling this feeling of impending doom when she hadn't even heard the plan?

Derek reached over and took her hand. "You'd better come in."

Dylynn followed him in, with Jesse behind her. She saw Damien sitting on the couch, looking grim. They all took seats on the couch and armchairs, letting a thick silence settle among them.

"So?" Jesse asked finally.

Derek swallowed, looking at Damien before glancing over to Dylynn. "Tell her."

"The video," Damien said finally.

Dylynn paled, realizing what he was talking about immediately. "No. She wouldn't."

"She would, and she's going to," Damien confirmed.

"What the hell is the video?" Jesse demanded.

Dylynn knew her face was bright red by now, and she was shaking. Not even Derek's arm around her could calm her down. "She wouldn't!"

"Dyl, it's okay," Derek pleaded.

"She can't," Dylynn whispered, already feeling a panic attack coming. "She can't," she burst out. "She's such a bitch!"

"She is," Damien said quietly. "Dyl, I'm so sorry."

"Why would she do this to me?" Dylynn wailed.

"Can someone please tell me what this video is?" Jesse demanded.

Dylynn rubbed her forehead. "Believe it or not, Juliette used to be my best friend. Before Kacey."

"You're joking," Jesse said in disbelief.

"Yeah," Dylynn admitted. "Big shocker, I know."

"So what happened?" Derek asked.

"We were best friends up until my mom died. Then, I started pulling away from her, you know, as anyone who's dealing with a death in the family should. She took it as a sign that I hated her and she turned on me in an instant. I didn't know she started to hate me and when my dad killed himself, I broke down in front of her and she pretended to comfort me." Dylynn shook her head. "I had no idea at the time that she filmed the entire thing, and the Monday I got back to school, she played the video on her high-tech laptop for the entire class to see."

"That's the video?" Jesse asked. "Just you crying in front of Juliette?"

"No. That's not the video she's going to release," Damien said.

"It's not?" Derek asked, raising an eyebrow. He looked at Dylynn. "Then what is it?"

Dylynn closed her eyes, blinking back tears. "No."

"Then what is it?" Jesse asked quietly.

Dylynn pushed back the lump in her throat but couldn't hold it in anymore, her body wracking with sobs as she let it all out. Derek's arms were around her immediately, trying to comfort her. But she couldn't be comforted.

Not now. Not ever.
