Riker's POV
"Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance." The woman says over the loudspeaker. The class stands up in unison, all of us tired from the weekend, and annoyed that it's Monday.
I debated even coming to class today because my face still hurts so bad. At first, I thought those guys broke my nose, but the swelling went down after a couple of hours. Luckily it went away and we were able to clean up the mess from the party before my parents got home. If we hadn't spent the day cleaning, we would have been in huge trouble.
"I just want to remind all students that tickets to the prom go on sale today and will be available for purchase until Friday."
Shit! I totally forgot about prom! What am I going to do? I know a couple of guys have made big signs for girls, but I want to do something even bigger than that. I want to do something memorable for Allison.
At lunch, I buy Alli and I's tickets to the dance so I have them on hand. I hide them in my bag before she comes to the lunch table, and she comes and sits down next to me, giving me a quick peck on the cheek.
"Hi babe, how was class?" She asks, completely unaware that I'm planning a big surprise promposal for her.
"Good, you?"
"Good. I'm so tired though. Can it be Summer already? How much longer?" She turns to Witney, one of the girls that sits with our group at the table. She flips her long blonde hair and grabs a notebook.
"1 month and 4 days."
"Hallelujah!" Alli claps her hands and smiles the biggest smile I've seen.
In all honesty I don't want this year to end. Every time I think of graduation I just think about Allison leaving me, and having to find a job while trying to get into music school...I just want to stay in this moment, with her, completely stress free.
"You okay?" She puts her hand on my thigh.
"Yeah, just thinking."
"About what?"
"Graduation. It's so close."
"I know, I'm so excited!" She smiles again, and I can't help but grin. Her smile is so contagious.
The bell rings for us to go to class, so I give her a quick kiss and walk to class. The rest of the day I contemplate what I want to do for my promposal. I thought about maybe making a giant sign like everyone else, or maybe taking her out on another picnic, but then I decide those aren't good enough. Then an idea pops in my mind.
A flash mob.
It would be perfect! We could be walking through the hallways and then all of a sudden everyone starts full on dancing and I can sing to her! That would be amazing, and everyone would remember it because everyone would be involved! This is the best idea I've ever had.
After school, I text everybody I know to meet me at the house. When I get home, a group of cars are already outside my house, so I run inside, leading everyone into the backyard.
"So I want to thank you guys in advance. The reason I asked you all to come over is because I want to have a flash mob to ask Allison to prom. I need as many people as I can get, so invite everyone you know and teach them the dance." They all talk among themselves.
I call Mr. Hough and ask him if he would help me choreograph. He agrees to help and says for me to bring everyone to the studio. There's about 20 of us total, so we all load up in a couple of cars and I lead the guys to the dance studio.
We work all night on the dance, and by the end of the night, I'm so excited I can barely sleep.
