-2 months later-

Riker's POV

My hands are shaky as I button my soft white shirt.

"Oh honey, you look so handsome! Do you need help with your bow tie?" Mom stands in the doorway, looking me up and down.

Today is prom, the day I know Allison's been waiting for. All I know is that her dress is red. Well, that's even a guess. All she gave me was the bow tie that's hanging around my neck. My mom comes over and with a twist of her fingers, my tie is perfectly in place.

"Thanks." I mutter. She grins, knowing that there is no way I could ever make it look as nice as she did.

I slip on my black suit jacket, running down the stairs and grabbing the corsage I bought Alli. It's a beautiful mix of red and white roses.

"Hey! Look at my bro lookin' all sharp!" Ross hits my back and laughs, obviously mocking me.

"Just wait till you have to do this." I eye him, and he backs off.

I plop down on the couch next to Rocky, who is smart enough not to say anything about my fancy attire, and wait for Allison to ring the doorbell.

Allison's POV

A tear falls on my lap as I stare at the letter.

'Ms. Holker,

Congratulations! It gives me tremendous pleasure to inform you that the Juilliard dance faculty and the Committee on Admissions has granted you admission into the Classical Arts-Dance Program at the Juilliard School of Arts.'

"Honey! You did it! I'm so proud of you!" Dad gives me the biggest hug he has ever given me, and I can't help but cry into his shoulder.

The past few months I have been working my ass off to get into this school. I had originally been thinking of other schools, but then I realized that Juilliard is the only way I'd ever get a chance to dance for a living.

My phone buzzes.

Riker: Good morning Princess, can't wait for tonight.

Shit! I totally forgot about prom in all of this college drama! I quickly check my calendar and luckily I didn't miss my hair appointment. I run upstairs and throw on a button up shirt and shorts, and make my way to the salon.

On the drive there, the question pops in my mind.

How am I gonna tell Riker about Juilliard?

Riker's POV

The doorbell rings, and I hop up from the couch and run to catch the door before Mom does.

Alli and I decided it would be better to take pictures at my house since I have a nice front porch, and then I could drive us to dinner and prom after.

I open the door, and Alli stands there, looking like a goddess. Her bright red dress covered in jewels looks absolutely stunning on her. Her curled hair hangs on her shoulders and that red lipstick on her lips looks truly irresistible.

Her father honks the horn of his car and I wave, my eyes quickly moving back to Allison.

"Be careful Son! I want her back by midnight, okay?"

"Alright Mr. Holker!" He waves, and drives away.

I hold my hand out, and she grabs it. I pull her into the house, and my mom comes around the corner and squeals.

"Allison! My dear, you look like a model! Your dress is so beautiful! Riker, you are one lucky guy." She gives Alli a big hug, and I stand staring at my girl in awe.

We take the next half hour or so taking pictures. Hundreds of pictures. My mom is obsessed with her camera, I never thought it was going to stop. 'Pose this way.' 'Pose in front of there.' My face hurts from smiling so much. But Alli was enjoying it, so that's all that matters. Although something seems a bit off with her tonight. She's barely said a word to me, almost like she's scared or something.

"Alright you two have fun tonight! Be safe!" Mom waves to us as I help Allison into the car, and we head off to dinner.

We made reservations for the nicest Italian restaurant around, but I forget the name of it. I know where it is, and I know that it's one of Alli's favorite restaurants, but the Italian name always escapes my mind.

"You  look really handsome, Riker." She says quietly from the passenger seat.

"Thank you, you look gorgeous Allison, absolutely stunning. How did I get so lucky as to have you as my date?" I wait for her usual giggle, but nothing comes from her. "Are you okay? You've been acting off tonight."

"I'm fine."

I rest my hand on her thigh, "babe, you know you can tell my anything, I know something's bothering you."

"I got in-" The rest of her sentence is too quiet for me to hear over the music from the radio. I turn it off and ask her to repeat it.

"I got into Juilliard."

My jaw drops. I know she's been working really hard to get into a school with a good dance program, but I never knew about Juilliard!

"Babe! I'm so proud of you! Why didn't you tell me?" I look at her, and she has a confused expression on her face.

"You're not mad?"

"Why would I be mad?! Juilliard is an amazing school Alli! I can't believe you did it!"

The rest of the drive we talk about how the head of the dance program sent her a personal letter of acceptance and how the dance program works. I am shocked to hear that only 8% of applicants make it in. I knew Alli was a great dancer from the beginning, but damn!

We pull into the restaurant parking lot and I leap over the middle of the card and give her a huge hug.

"I love you so much, Riker." She whispers in my ear.

The rest of the night is amazing. I spent the whole night dancing with the love of my life, sharing funny stories about the waiter we had at dinner who tripped and spilled our food, and bragging about how my incredible girlfriend got into Juilliard.

I pull up into Allison's driveway, getting out and opening her door before she could. We walk up to her front door, her holding her heels in her hand and my jacket around her shoulders. It turned out to be a cold night, so I lent her my jacket.

"I had a great time tonight, did you?" I ask the short girl standing in front of me.

"It was the perfect night, thank you." she stands on her tiptoes to give me a kiss, then gives me a hug.

"I'm so proud of you, beautiful." I pull away from the hug and hold her shoulders with my hands. "And please, don't be nervous to tell me anything, ever. You can tell me anything, because no matter what it is I will always love you."

I lean down and give her a deep kiss, and she runs her fingers through my hair, giving me goosebumps all over.

"Goodnight love." The girl of my dreams walks into her house, leaving me outside, completely in love.
