Cathrine Mayfield is the twin sister of Maxine who goes by Max, they have an older sister Violet and an older step brother Billy. Cathrine prefers to be called Cat or Kate.
Alice Wheeler is the twin of Mike which makes her the younger sister of Nancy and the older sister of Holly. Alice prefers to be called Ally
Both girls have never seemed to fit in, Cathrine was quite, you could say she's shy although she is never afraid to stand up for her twin, she's never afraid to stand up for what she believes in, Alice is the opposite, she's loud and outgoing... they say opposites attract and as Cathrine and Max start their new school in Hawkins she finds herself helpless staring at a fellow classmate Alice Wheeler, her brown hair fell over her shoulders and that small smile she had on her face as their eyes met both girls feel themselves falling fast for one another.
Cathrine always knew she was different, she was never obsessed over boys, even as she grew up she she never saw herself falling for a boy, not like her mom and older sister Violet.
Cathrine knew their was more than just one sexuality but she didn't know what she was, all she did know was she wasn't interested in falling for a boy.
Alice was different, Alice didn't know she was into girls, she had crushes on her best friend Dustin for crying out loud but she as she found herself starring at the redhead who stood shyly beside her sister she instantly wanted to get to know her, she thought the redhead was gorgeous and as their eyes met her heart skipped a beat
