Roommates and Beach Parties

Grand Line University was very far from human society. Deep within the Red Woods, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Kana was disappointed to find the trees mostly green. Her taxi driver told her, the forest got its name from its fall colors. Apparently, the trees look like they've been dipped in blood. Fitting for a supernatural school where almost all the students had deadly abilities.

The majority of the student population were werewolves. There were only a few witches, banshees, and mermaids that attended as their species were rare to begin with. A decent amount of humans also attended the school. People came from all across the country, and sometimes even farther than that as Grand Line University was the only school of its kind. A place to promote peace between the species and packs.

The wall of trees finally ended, and the campus was revealed. It had several buildings and outdoor spaces. The largest building was the dorm hall where all the students lived. The nearest town was two hours so there were also several entertainment options, including a small diner and movie theater. Other commodities were provided with a drug store, library, book store, generic clothing store, and specialty store selling products geared towards specific species.

The taxi rolled to a stop in front of the dorm. Opening the door, Kana could smell the salty ocean, which was just on the other side of the building. Grabbing her two suitcases, and backpack from the trunk, she paid and thanked the driver before heading into the lobby. The large room was filled to the brim with students and suitcases. Move-in day after summer break. Some students were allowed to live full-time on campus, but most visited their packs during breaks. It seemed that everybody already had their groups, mostly separated by species.

Weaving through the loud crowd, Kana reached the check-in and went to the table marked witches. A young woman with long dark hair sat behind it reading a very thick book,

"Excuse me, I'm here to check in." The woman glanced up, placed her book to the side, and smiled,

"Welcome! I hope you got here alright, it's a long drive. I'm Nico Robin, professor for lunar witches." She introduces,

"Kana Silvers, I'm also a lunar witch." Robin smiles again shuffling through a bunch of papers,

"That means we will be seeing each other a lot, lunar witches are pretty uncommon these days." Kana gives her a small smile,

"Yeah, I was expecting to be the only one here." She admitted,

"Well, we may be the only lunar witches, but there are several other green, and gray witches here as well." She hands Kana a packet and a lanyard with a key card attached.

"You're on floor 3, room 5. You will be living with other species, each grouped into makeshift packs. Each floor has one large living area, kitchen, and dining area. It then breaks off into small hallways for each species, then rooms by gender. Each hallway has a small living space, bathrooms, and laundry room. All species are free to enter any hallway and use any of the facilities. Your hallway will have the only witches on campus, there aren't very many of you this term. Some floors are completely werewolf since there are so many of them. Floor three is actually the most diverse floor with several species." She explains, "Classes begin Monday, your schedule is in the packet, along with campus guidelines, a map, and a list of all the activities, clubs, and sports available here. Tonight on the beach is a campus party, everyone is invited, and encouraged to come." She finishes.

"Thank you, Ms. Robin."

"Oh, just Robin is fine. I'm really not much older than you." She smiles. Kana nods her head slightly, grabbing her suitcases and wheeling them over to the elevators.

The elevator doors open right into the floor's common area, which is completely empty. Everyone is either in the lobby or setting up their rooms. The witch's hallway is directly to her right. There is a short hallway with several doors. Kana takes note of the bathrooms, and laundry room. She enters the smaller common space glancing around. The bedrooms are attached to this room, with the doors circling the room. Room five is the second door to her right, the nameplate next to it reading Kana Silvers and Perona Mihawk. The bedroom doors have locks, but her's is already open. She peaks in to find a girl with bright pink pigtails wearing a black dress. She turns noticing her roommate,
