Keir trotted down the mountain path, humming quietly to himself. The carefree Umbreon frolicked with a cart of many types of berries and other such fruits, vegetables, jams, and liquor behind him. He loved the simplicity of trotting down to the village to sell his family's produce, although he wasn't very good at holding conversations.

The cool mountain breeze softly caressed his fur. Fortunately, the sun was covered in a thick blanket of clouds, so he wouldn't overheat as much as he usually would on his deliveries. He soon reached the village, he looked up at the old wooden sign perched on an arch above his head which read "Flat-top Ridge", named so after the area the village was built upon.

The mountain has been eaten away by generations of Larvitar thousands of years ago for sustenance. When they evolved, they moved away from the mountain in search of different minerals to eat, leaving the mountain as a giant platform. The village was built a few hundred years after those Larvitar left.

Almost instantly, the atmosphere changed. Gone was the quiet hum of the wind, replaced with the bustling of the little village. Merchants shouting over each other, friends chatting in the streets, and the occasional swarm of Pokémon would come buzzing towards him, forcing him to skillfully weave around them to avoid any produce getting damaged from a sudden, harsh stop.

Keir eventually reached a small bakery; he knocked on the door; he heard shuffling from inside; and a couple seconds later, the old door squeaked open. An Alcremie answered the door; Keir then spoke up.

"H-hi, I have a delivery of berries and jam for a Mrs. Campbell; would you happen to be her?" He asked as politely as he could while trying not to mumble.

"Aye, that's me. Thank you for delivering these, dearie." The kind old Pokémon smiled warmly at Keir. He unbuckled himself from the cart and went behind it to begin dropping off the produce. After around 15 minutes, he had gotten every crate Mrs. Campbell had ordered out of the cart. The Alcremie thanked and paid him; she always paid him well when she occasionally ordered. He then reattached the cart to his waist, and he went to finish his deliveries.

The next was a small store not too far away—only a couple minutes away. They were a relatively new buyer, only having been sourcing from his family for a pawful of weeks. He then repeated the same actions that he'd been doing for months: unhitch himself, glance at the order sheet he had, grab the required crates, and drop them off.

The door's bell resonated around the quiet store. It was usually always this quiet around this time, mainly due to the mons of the town going to other stores. He waved shyly at the Espeon manning the storefront.

"Hi, I'm h-here to drop off produce; you ordered 3 crates of assorted v-vegetables, 2 crates of jam and 1 of liquor, right?" He asked, repeating the order. The Espeon nodded slowly before walking up to him.

"Yes, we did. I'll help you unload; if that's not too much trouble, of course!" He said with a very forced customer service voice. Keir just nodded, thanking Arceus for the slight mercy on his back.

The Espeon nodded back, walking past him. He came back a few moments later, holding all of the crates using Psychic. Keir was thankful that his last delivery of the day was coming up soon, as because it was autumn, the sun was already beginning to set.

So, the Espeon paid him and gave him a bottle of fresh water 'on the house'. Keir knew that he had obviously taken as much money as the water cost; it didn't bother him that much, but the sleazy prick could've at least tried to hide the fact that he put money aside while counting it.
