Techno didn't like a lot of things, hospitals being one of those things. They reeked of old people and dying children, among other things. They also reminded him of Wilbur's current situation. Life is unfair for most people, only the rich survive by feeding off the unhealthy.
Still, Techno had to see his brother. Lucky for him, the hospital Wilbur was in was different.
This visit was different. He had Tommy by his side. He wouldn't be completely alone with Wilbur. Phil wouldn't visit Wilbur too much, he didn't have the time, always busy with work. The bills had to be paid somehow. Today was one of those days.
"Ah. Technoblade Watson, it has been a while. Here to see your brother, I assume."
"Yes." Techno nodded.
"Allll right, you are all set to head to his room—" the lady said, turning to Tommy. Techno knew the kid was done for. "Oh my gosh, who is this little cutie?!"
"What can I say, big man? All the ladies love me!" Tommy smirked.
Oh, boy, was he going to eat his words.
"Tommy. He's—" My younger brother, Techno, wanted to say, but that would be a distasteful lie. "An orphan."
The lady climbed over her desk, practically jumping over it. Techno backed away from her, and well, Tommy froze. The woman pinched Tommy's cheeks like a grandma in a book would. "Aren't you just the cutest thing?"
"I'll see you later." Techno waved, walking down towards Wilbur's room. He needed to talk to Wilbur alone for a minute anyway. He can't let Wilbur meet Tommy just yet.
"Wait!"
"Too late." Techno laughed lightly as he made his way to Wilbur's room.
Techno had taken the same stroll to the room all by himself. Missy, the front desk lady, would — typically have a nurse walk him down. But he now essentially lives here. The majority of the psychologists and nurses recognized him.
Before his brother moved, the trip was shorter, just a few doors down from the receptionist.
It wasn't always that Wilbur's room was so far from the main entrance. He had attempted to flee several times. Techno wasn't allowed to visit him for a long time during that time, but thankfully Wilbur's recovery was getting better. enough for Techno to visit anyway.
Techno knocked on the door.
"Coming! Just a second!" A short lady with almost white as snow hair. "Ah, good morning, Techno! Long time no see!"
Niki, a good friend to both Wilbur and Techno. She was also training to become a nurse.
"Morning," Techno muttered. "Where's Wilbur?"
"Oh! Inside. I'll go, so you can talk to your brother alone."
"Thanks."
Niki nodded before leaving the room. Techno walked inside, the room was mostly bare. No posters or even colourful paint on the wall. Wilbur sat on a bed, one not too cozy. Techno bet the blanket would feel like paper brushing up against his skin, well, his one pillow was as flat as a pancake.
"Tell them I don't want the stupid socks, Niki! " Wilbur shouted, without looking away from the wall. He spent so much time looking at walls for no reason, it worried Techno.
"Wilbur." was all Techno said.
"Techno?!" Wilbur jumped up and rushed over to his older brother, pulling him into a hug. Techno didn't bother fighting it. He wasn't a person who liked human contact, but his brother was different. Besides, even if he hated hugs, Wilbur wouldn't let him out of his hold.
