Chapter six- A Memory
"Miss, may I come in?"
Ashlyn jumped at the sound of someone knocking on her door, "Yeah, sure." The person opened the door and entered, "P-Prince Hakuryuu?!" Ashlyn gasped. She looked around her room. It was a mess.
Prince Hakuryuu paid no mind to this though, and continued to speak, "I've been meaning to talk with you."
"T-Talk with me? Why?" Ashlyn felt intimidated. A prince wanted to talk with her? A prince from the Kou Empire even! She never felt this way around Sinbad though, which puzzled her.
"Yes. May I ask your name, though? I've forgotten it."
"Oh...uhm, Ashlyn. My name's Ashlyn." She prepared herself for him saying it was a weird name. Everyone did.
"That's an interesting name. Does it have a meaning?" Hakuryuu walked further into her room.
"I'm not sure...Does Hakuryuu have a meaning?" Ashlyn stood from her bed.
"Yes. White Dragon, I believe."
"Heh. That's way cooler than Ashlyn." Ashlyn laughed a little, trying to not sound awkward.
"Where are you from, Ashlyn-dono? You have a weird accent." Hakuryuu looked at her, slightly confused.
"Uh..." She didn't want to make the same mistake as last time and say a place that didn't even exist. "I don't actually remember...I don't really remember much about myself." Ashlyn looked at Hakuryuu and gasped as her head began to throb.
"Are you alright, Ashlyn-dono?" Hakuryuu took a step closer.
"Y-Yeah...I'm fine." Ashlyn insisted, but her head hurt worse than ever. It radiated throughout her entire body, sending shivers down her spine.
"If you decide to curse your 'destiny', I will give you a hand."
The voice echoed in Ashlyn's mind. Her eyes widened as she looked at Hakuryuu, who looked very concerned. He curses his fate. I remember.
Another wave of pain went through her body, causing her to fall to her knees this time. Hakuryuu called out to her and caught her, but she could barely hear him.

"Ashlyn! Come on, are you just gonna sit there all day?" A girl with dyed, light purple hair, and sunburned skin loomed over Ashlyn. She wore a blue bikini and had her hands on her hips, giving Ashlyn a disapproving look. "You haven't even taken your tee-shirt off! You have your bathing suit on, don't you?"
"Of course I do! I just don't want to swim..." Ashlyn adjusted her position on the towel she sat on. A large umbrella was staked into the ground beside her, blocking any sunlight.
"You could at least tan then. You're so pale!" The girl grabbed her arm in an attempt to pull her up.
"W-Wait! Stop! Hannah!" Ashlyn pleaded.
"Huh? What's this, a bruise?" Hannah observed a large black and blue mark on Ashlyn's arm.
"Stop." Ashlyn pulled her hand away and held it close to her chest.
"How'd you get that?" Hannah asked, a confused expression on her face. "Oh...Nevermind." Hannah took a few steps back as she realized. "You don't have to do anything. I'll sit with you, if you want?"
"S-Sure..." Ashlyn slowly sat back down, Hannah sitting beside her.
"How's your mom? Is she better?" Hannah asked quietly after a few minutes of silence.
"Not really...It's okay though." Ashlyn pulled her knees close to her chest.
"Oh. You can always stay at my place if it's too much there. My mom and dad love you, you know." Hannah smiled lightly, turning her head to her friend.
"Thanks...But I think I'll be fine."

"Prince Hakuryuu! What happened?" Ja'far exclaimed as he saw the prince enter Sinbad's study carrying Ashlyn bridal style.
"I'm not sure. I was talking with her, and she suddenly passed out." Hakuryuu explained.
"Is she wounded at all?" Sinbad asked, standing from his desk.
"No."
"Come, we'll have Yamraiha look her over immediately." Sinbad decided, leading the way to the magician's workplace.
Once there, they laid Ashlyn down on a spare bed and Yamraiha looked her over. "She doesn't seem to have any injuries. Prince Hakuryuu, did she say anything before passing out?"
"No, she only have me a weird look. She seemed to be in a lot of pain though." Hakuryuu had a troubled look on his face. She looked like she felt bad for me. Like she knew something about me I didn't. Who is she?
"Well...She should be fine. We'll just have to ask her when she wakes up." Yamriaha sighed. Her, Sinbad and Ja'far were all concerned. None of them knew who or what she was, and the situation was just getting more and more complicated. Yamriaha gave Sinbad a look, silently trying to say her thoughts, it may be dangerous to keep her in Sindria.
But Sinbad thought differently, shaking his head a little. There's more we need to know about her. She's valuable.
