Chapter fifteen- Djinn Equip
Ashlyn awoke, shaking and covered in sweat. I can't believe I survived that... Her new memory kept repeating in her mind. I can't believe I was able to escape, and that girl...Hannah...didn't... She had so many questions, but the most prominent was why most of the things in her memories didn't exist here. She'd never seen a car like the one she just remembered. She'd also never seen magic, or any mention of it, in her memories.
"It doesn't make sense..." Ashlyn frowned as she walked around. She hadn't even realized it was the next day.
"What doesn't make sense, Ashlyn-dono?"
"Oh! Prince Hakuryuu...Uh, hello." Ashlyn jumped back as she nearly ran into the teen.
"Hello. How long have you been back? I didn't see you."
"I got back last night...Sorry, I meant to say hi but I forgot after what happened with Ithnan..." Ashlyn apologized. She remembered the last time they talked, it hadn't been a very pleasant conversation. Is he going to ask me more questions? I don't know what else to say. I can't just tell him...
"Oh, it's fine. Are you alright though, Ashlyn-dono?" Hakuryuu looked concerned again.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just had a weird dream last night..." Ashlyn decided to try and change the subject, "You captured Zagan, right? I got a djinn too."
"Really?" Hakuryuu seemed interested.
"Yeah." Ashlyn smiled and showed him her metal vessels.
"Interesting. Do you know how to activate it yet?"
"No..." Ashlyn noticed Hakuryuu's wooden arm and cringed a bit. I feel so bad...
"Neither do I. Would you like to train together?" Hakuryuu offered.
"R-Really?" Ashlyn exclaimed. "B-But I don't even know what Zarad's weapon is! It's impossible for me to train if I don't know what to use!"
"I'm sure one of the generals, or even King Sinbad, will know what to do." Hakuryuu smiled. "Come on. I'll help too."
"Ok then, I guess..." Ashlyn smiled some.

Ashlyn and Hakuryuu trained for a while, and after a day or so, -with the help of some of the generals- Ashlyn learned her weapon equip. For the remaining days before everyone was leaving, Ashlyn trained with Ja'far, who was a decent match for her weapons.
Ashlyn's weapon equip was interesting. The pair of bracelets transformed into a pair of black and gold daggers, which she learned was perfect for assassin-type attacks. Hence the reason Ja'far was her teacher. Although his weapon and technique were much different, he was still a skilled assassin, and was able to show her a few things.
"Now, let's see if you can perform your full djinn equip." Ja'far decided, Sinbad standing beside him.
"S-Seriously? I haven't even been training that long!" Ashlyn became nervous.
"That may be true, but you learned your weapon equip very quickly, meaning you might be able to complete a full body as well. Even if you've only been training for a week." Sinbad spoke.
"I-I'm not sure..." Ashlyn began worrying. What if my djinn equip is super exposing?! That'd be so weird in front of Ja'far and King Sinbad!
"Come on, try it." Sinbad urged.
"W-What do I say?"
"Say what you feel fits."
What is that supposed to mean?! "Alright...I'll try..." Ashlyn activated her weapon equip and held the daggers up. Please work with me, Zarad... "Spirit of Stealth and Assassination, in the name of my magoi, and my will to grant me a greater power, I order you and your members, come forth, Zarad!"
A light surrounded Ashlyn and her entire outfit changed. Her hair became long and black with purple tips. It was in a long ponytail besides two strands on either side of her head. Two gold cuffs rested on her arms, one on each bicep. Her top didn't cover much, it was really just black cloth that crisscrossed over her chest and part of her stomach. Her jeans became a long black skirt with a slit up the whole right side, exposing her right leg entirely. And lastly, on her face, attached to her head, was a black veil that covered her nose and mouth, along with her ears.
Ashlyn gasped and fell to her knees, her djinn equip disappearing. "Ashlyn! Are you alright?" Ja'far and Sinbad rushed to her side.
"Mhm. I'm fine...That was awesome!" Ashlyn marveled.
"That was impressive, but it seems it takes too much out of you." Sinbad commented.
"Yes. You should only use your weapon equip for now." Ja'far added.
