Amity flew straight into her room, not wanting to get bombarded by questions from Ed and Em. Not to mention the questions from her mother...Amity brushed off the thought and collapsed on her bed. She had to tell Luz at some point, but today wasn't the day. She felt torn, at a loss for what to do. Luz deserved the truth, after all, but Amity didn't want to lose the only person she really, really loved. Sure, she had her siblings and maybe some friends at school, but no one could replace Luz Noceda. Just as she was about to open Penstagram, a harsh knocking came at her door. "Mittens, open this door right now!" Her mother's familiar voice came from the other side. Amity had forgotten even locking it. She briskly stood and let her mother in. "My apologies, I must have-" "You are in so much trouble." Her mother interrupted, seething with anger. "What?" Amity paused. Odalia stared down at her daughter with a look of absolute disgust. "You left this house without telling a soul, so close to a full-moon! You could have hurt someone, or worse, seen by the emperor's coven!" She screamed, fists balled. Tears stung Amity's eyes. She hated when her mother got loud. It always brought back those..unpleasant memories of the first few times she transformed into the beast. "Mother, I didn't..I never meant to cause any harm. I just went out to see Boscha." Amity lied. She knew her mother would never approve of Luz, so why bother? "I just called Boscha's mother. You were never with her nor at her house." Odalia said, almost concerningly cold. "Uh.." Amity backed up a few steps, trying to think of another lie. "Amity Blight, you do not lie to me. You're grounded, and you will never see Edalyn's daughter - that HUMAN ever again." Amity froze. How did her mother even know about Luz? Wait..Her dad. Her dad knew. She had begged him to keep it a secret, she had only told him they were friends anyways. "Mom please, I seriously..I don't.." She struggled for words, a tear running down her cheek. All she saw was her Mother's hand flying at her cheek rapidly before feeling that familiar sting to her cheek. "That is all." Odalia said calmly as she walked out, slamming Amity's door shut. Amity collapsed to the floor, sobbing. Her mother couldn't force her to stop seeing Luz, no matter what. It wasn't even a possibility in her mind. As she was overcome with anger and sadness, her thoughts jumbled together and a recognizable haze slid over her. Her vision began fading. No, no she couldn't be transforming. Not now. Not again. "NO!" Amity cried out before everything faded to black and her pale skin changed into brown, thick fur.
