!Author's Note!:
This chapter will be in Micah's pov this time around and give a little back story to him and his life.
A quick reminder that '~' throughout the story is intended as time skips. When quotes are in Italics, it's intended as the character's thoughts. Enjoy! <3Micah arrived at the office early in the morning as he was leading a current open DEA case for narcotics in the city. As he entered the office, a group of men looked over in his direction.
"Hey Micah, Agent M was asking about you, looks like someone has a secret admirer", said Joel as he smirked.
The group of men all chuckled at Joel's remark.
"You would think that all the teenager drama would be over at this point of life huh..." Micah thought to himself as he watched the group chuckle.
"It's not your business to be meddling in, is it Joel?", Micah replied as he leaned against his desk.
"Anyway this isn't the place for that, now let's get to work. " Micah added, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"Right, sorry boss!..." Joel exclaimed as his face turned red.
"He can be so scary when he gets all serious," Joel whispered to the group of men.

Knock, knock, knock
"I'm sorry to interrupt Mr.Aquino, but you haven't really answered my phone calls, and I just wanted to-" Agent M explained before getting cut off.
"Is it about the current narcotics case?" Micah asked as he leaned all the way back in his chair.
"N-no. Not precisely, but I wanted to apologize for what I did to you-" she explained before getting cut off again.
"If it is not about the case then I don't want to hear it. Anything more is against our work ethics and strictly inappropriate, got it?", Micah replied in a strict and assertive tone.
"Right. I'm sorry, I'll let you be..." Agent M said softly before leaving his office.
Micah inhaled and exhaled deeply after she shut his office door.
He threw his head back against his chair as he rubbed the small scar on his brow.
"I've changed so much...No, I had to. If I didn't, people would still take advantage of me." he thought to himself.
"Although I am much stronger now and assertive, it still hurts. Back in grade school, I would constantly be bullied verbally...then physically."
Micah stood up from his chair and walked over to his window where he stared blankly at the view of the sun setting above the city.
"I started to grow and as I passed each grade, people started to like me. Everyone excluded me from groups, but as I entered high school, guys started wanting to hang out. Girls wanted to date me. It was all so...foreign to me."
"As gullible as I was, I believed them. It only made me hurt more, people using me for their own advantage. Girls slept with me and then left me once they saw the real me. They carried a facade with them that they were kind, yet they treated others less than."
"It's left me both physical and emotional scars. Agent M, Marine, and I had a connection once when I was an intern here years ago. We even became intimate, but she then later explained how she knew me way before she initially said. She was the girl who would constantly bully me about my weight and for being 'too smart'."
