Our run through the forest was refreshing and despite our late arrival didn't cause a dent in any of the plans that were already on motion. By the time we arrived, everything was going according to plan. Our rooms were already assigned and teams had been picked out randomly so it was not surprising that we found ourselves already assigned with training partners.

"Man, that was exhilarating! I haven't felt that good exercising in so long." David said as he caught his breath.

We were in the training circle trying our defense stances. Most of us have been training for years but it was nice to do it together. As werewolves, we were competitive in nature and it was working well as a motivation to do better in order to be a step ahead of everyone else.

"Of course, you would say that. It was killer regime. Is Bandi trying to kill us before we get to even live a little? I am exhausted. "

"Race you to the bathroom." David challenged me and I wanted to decline it but he kept sashaying his cute but in front of me and I wanted to bury my face in it.

He knew he had me the moment I sighed but still he ran as fast as he could. I let him win because I knew the reward would be amazing. If for nothing else, sex with David was always out of this world. He knew how to take care of me and I tried to return the favour.

All of a sudden, he opened the bathroom door. We had just come down from a high of mind-blowing sex and I was expecting some soothing but, when he begun sniffing and I knew I was doomed, it was time for him to leave me. He forgot I was even there, his eyes looked fogged, and he had the biggest smile I have ever seen on him. I really wanted to be happy for him but I had no energy left in me. I sat on the bathroom floor as he followed the scent. In the next few minutes all I could hear were grunts and whimpers and I broke. I had dreaded the thought this day would come even though he had given up a long time ago after he'd almost died searching for his mate. I don't know how long I was on the bathroom floor but I came to when I started getting cold.

"Tyler, you have to be happy for him. You have to make out if this. It's going to be okay. You are strong, intelligent and handsome to boot. You will be okay. You promised to be better, and strong " I talked myself up and it worked in masking the pain from becoming visible to anyone who saw me.

"Tee, Tee, Tyler, are you in there?" I heard Andy's voice calling for me as he opened the main bathroom door. Andrew was one of David's close friends. I still wasn't good at making friends and all the ones I had were his.

"Shit! Another hurdle to cross." I cursed as I quickly tied a towel.

"There you are. Are you okay? Have you been here since lunch?" he looked shocked and that was when I realized it was dark outside.

"What's up, did something happen?" Deciding to dodge his inquiry seemed to be the best option.

"Nothing much. You weren't there at dinner so...."he said. I knew he was looking at me trying to gauge what was happening with me but I had a mask on. I was going to act happy even if it killed me.

"Heheheh, I went for a run. I was slow today at training so I wanted more to catch up to everyone. Anyway, we better head to the den before Malchi comes to find us." I dressed quickly and headed out.

I stopped at the door to my room because I could hear them giggling inside. This was the room I shared with David. I couldn't go in there not yet. I don't think I could face him and fake a smile.

"You can stay in my room. He was my roommate. He came in today. He comes from the Wild family. They live on the other peak." Andrew said. I hadn't realized he'd followed me. I just nodded and followed him then dropped myself on the bed. It was his but he didn't complain.
