It was the day we got sold off. I got used to my devil fruit, with days to go with it. But it was always ordered after order. I didn't have time for myself or Ace and Zy. I felt bad for them, they were stuck here with me and I can't help them. Honestly, I hated being here. The man that brought us here was constantly giving me orders "testing the devil fruit to see if it works". But today they put me, Ace, and Zy all in a room together.
"Scare, wow that dress looks good on ya," Ace called. I rolled my eyes and flipped her off. "Hey!" I laughed playfully.
"Sorry but I had to, it's been forever since we last saw each other," I explained. I walked up to them and sat on my knees smiling. They smiled at me, I felt exposed to them, but it wasn't uncomfortable or comfortable, it was just right.
"We missed you, but why did you tell us you were a girl?" Zy asked. I sighed thinking about how I was going to explain to them why I never said anything about my gender.
"Long story short, I didn't want anyone to know," I muttered. I looked to the side not wanting to let her see through my lie. I started fiddling with my jacket, someone was coming. Then the door opened and it was a girl who looked like she couldn't hurt a fly.
"Girls follow me," The girl called. She seemed nervous, very nervous. She was shaking slightly not noticeable by normal people but I and her are a lot alike.
We followed her. She led us to a dark lightroom, it was more of a stage. She led us through a section of the stage. When we stepped, or go near a certain spot, chains would reach out and stop us and hold us in place as shackles reached and led us in place.
I was on the far left, Ace was on the far right, and Zy was in the center. I squeeze my legs feeling cold air brush against my legs and how relieved they were. I started pulling on the chains around my wrist but then I saw a familiar button that scared my neck. I quickly stopped and stood still.
Suddenly the lights came on and the curtains opened up revealing a huge crowd. That's when my anxiety kicked in and I started to panic. I looked up at the door to see Lght and the crew! I stepped forward pulling the chains with me, but before I could get another step in there was a buzz telling me to get back into the place. I glanced at Lght before looking at the ground and going back to my spot.
Soon enough the auction started. After a while of betting, I saw Lght stand up along with the rest of the crew. Then they disbanded, I watched as Lght walked closer to the front. Suddenly the lights went out.
"Sold to the nobleman for $5,500,000,000!" The announcer called. I lifted my hand as I started trembling. Nobleman = Celestial Dragon. As soon as the shackles were released, I jumped off the stage. I was quickly grabbed by two men.
Before I got the chance to fight, a collar was placed around my neck. My scream could be soon heard. The shock was so painful and powerful. The men released me, I collapse to the floor screaming at the top of my lungs. It felt like it was hours before the shock stopped. I panted and whined a the pain.
"Look at me," The noble ordered. I looked up at him without thinking about it. "Good, now swallow." He put pills into my mouth and then I don't remember what happened next.
Shanks pov
I stood by the door watching the betting, mostly Scare. I hated her outfit, it was too revealing on her. It also doesn't suit her anyway. I watched as she screamed her head off. I resisted my urges to help but I had to wait to tell the Celestial to get her outside. I watched as he put something in her mouth, and then she attacked Lght. I watched as she was pulled away from him, constantly fighting to get him, but she snapped back to reality and clung to her friend. She was pulled away from him by the Celestial Dragon who bought her, and that was my queue to go outside.
"God damn, Lght your lucky that I'm doing this for Scare," I mumbled. I leaned my back against the wall. I sat there waiting, listening through the walls. There wasn't noise or talking. I hated the fact I agreed to this shit, but it was all to see my sweet girl Scare.
Flashback
"Why did you need me again?" I asked. I was walking with Lght into the kitchen. We sat down at a table. I crossed my leg over my other and looked Lght dead in the eyes. He seemed to be tired but if nothing else, no fear or nervousness, he was just calm and relaxed.
"I need your help getting a few members of my crew back. They are Ace Scare And Zy," Lght said. I looked at him, I was pissed.
"Did I hear you right, you said Scare, right?" I growled. I watched as he nodded his head. I stood up, looking down at him I said, "I'm only helping you because it's Scare." I walked out afterward.
end of flashback
"Follow me bitch," The Celestial Dragon growled. He was dragging Scare by the arm, I could hear her wince. I followed behind them, Scare was quiet and she looked scared.
"Scare stop," I ordered. Scare stopped mid-step. Making the Celestial stop too. He turned around, he was going to hit her but when he saw me, fear struck him hard. He backed away from her fast and soon he ran off somewhere.
"I know that voice," Scare said. Her voice was soft and gentle. She turned around with a huge smile place on her face. "Shanks!" It looked like she was about to move but she couldn't.
"Scare, long time no see," I said. I walked up to her and pulled her into a hug. She was hesitant but she hugged back. We soon separated, and I put my arm around her shoulder. "Walk with me."
I looked into her eyes as I said that. And I noticed a flash of blue before she started walking with me. She shrugged off my arm, then she grabbed my hand. She was nervous and she didn't hide it too well. She looked to the side the whole time we were walking.
"Scare," I called. I glanced down at her. Her body tensed up but then relax at my voice. She was a foot shorter than me, so her small body frame was just adorable.
"Ya, shanks?" Scare said it was more of a question. Her grip on my hand became tight as if I were to leave her. Her thumb started rubbing agent my thumb.
We had stepped onto my ship, hands still locked together. Scare refused to let go of my hand, which I didn't mind.
"Would you like to stay here with me and my crew?" I asked. I wanted to see if Lght valued his crew especially Scare. I trust him, yes but you can never be too sure.
"Shanks, I would love to but I have my own family to go back to." Scare's eyes were pained. She had a small smile on her face. She looked over at the water and then back at me.
"Here put this on," I said. I handed her a ring. It was silver with a row of diamonds nothing too special, it was just a replica of the one she lost when she was little. She put the ring onto her left hand, and she almost collapsed but I caught her.
"Shanks!" Lght yelled. I rolled my eyes playfully and fully at the sight of him being so pissed off. I looked down at Scare and she was out like a light and that's when I felt it. Lght was using concourse haki, so I returned the favor.
