"Kai!" Lloyd yelled, as the wall of rock blocked him out of the other side of the volcano. "Kai?!" His vision got blurred with tears. "Kai…?" He said softly. "Please.." he said even softer, was he pleading for Kai, a higher power? Just to feel safe? Even he didn't know.
A crash was made in the distance, and Lloyd turned quickly to see an opening. He quickly jumped, almost falling back into the lava as he crawled into the small opening. Where it led to was the least of his problems, as he crawled. It was a tight fit, even for someone small like him. As he kept on crawling for what felt like eternity, he reached the outside, somewhere in the desert. He flipped on to the sand, exhausted.
As he laid in the sun his thoughts, all his fear, his anger started to bubble up, just like the boiling magma he had escaped. "Why did Kai just stand there… why… why didn't he come for me? Is he alive? Dead?! Do the others think I'm dead?... OH MY GOD AM I DEAD?!" After a few minutes of this internal thought he looked in the distance, he saw.. the bounty.. leaving… without him.
"So.. I'm alone… again." Lloyd had felt this before. He had been alone his whole life. In his boarding school, then with the serpentine. But, this… this was entirely different. He finally felt happy, genuinely happy with them and they had left. Left. Left him alone. Alone to.. "die."
He thought. He felt a spark light inside of him, his rage quickly, but quietly consuming him. Eating him alive almost. This anger felt new and pure. A darkness of sorts. Lloyd looked down to see his fists, and saw a beautiful, terrifying purple flame around them.
This was it.
His taste of power.
