ZACHARY

It's already noon and Valeri is still sleeping. Probably because of the fever. But it doesn't stop her from looking as gorgeous as always.

The others woke up hours ago and they're currently swimming and having fun. I feel bad for Valeri. I know she has been on vacations only a few times. Always with me. I actually taught her how to swim since her mother never has.

And now she's sick. She will hopefully get better in a few days but still. Alex is really worried about her. He knows about everything Valeri was dealing in the past. I've told him before he even found out he has a twin sister. I have told him everything about her. How funny and nice she is. How she always puts others first before herself. How she is the most amazing person I have ever met.

I wish I could tell her how much I missed her but I know I can't. She's so much happier now. Plus we are getting pretty close so it doesn't really matter that much.

I read a book until she finally stirs awake. I put the book away and go in the bathroom to bring her a glass of water.

As I come back she's sitting on my bed looking confused.

"Finally awake? It's noon." I smile at her. But she doesn't do the same. I brush it off with a thought that she isn't feeling great since she's sick.

"Hey." She drinks the whole glass.

I put my hand on her forehead hoping she's not heating as much as she was last night.

She isn't. Good. But she looks really tired. Her face is pale and she has dark circles under her eyes.

"How are you feeling?" I ask because she doesn't say anything.

"Drained." Her voice is so soft. I love listening to her.

"I'll bring you something to eat, okay?" I pull her close.

"Okay."

I go downstairs and make her fresh orange juice and the pancakes that were left from breakfast. Lach only ate two just so Valeri could have more. That was so sweet of him.

I go back upstairs to my room but it's empty. I hear her in the bathroom so I wait for her.

She comes out a minute later looking a little bit better but she's still pale.

As soon as she sees me she starts apologising. "I'm sorry I didn't ask you to use your bathroom I just..."

"No it's okay it really isn't a problem."

"Oh okay." She doesn't meet my eyes. She hasn't since I saw her at the party.

Valeri sits back on the bed covering herself with a blanket. Covering her hoodie. I mean my hoodie. She still hasn't returned it and I don't expect her to.

I give her the plate with food. I can see she hasn't eaten anything for quite a long time.

Seeing her struggle breaks my heart. She's perfect but she doesn't see it.

"You don't have to eat everything if you don't want to, okay? Just try." I say quietly as I stroke her hair.

"I want to. I really do. But I can't." She whispers still looking at the pancakes. As I feel her start sweating and breathe faster I know what's going to happen. She tries to hide it but I've already noticed.
