Dancing In The Dark (Hoseok X Reader)

In The Park

Today was the day. I had spent all afternoon washing my chuck taylors which I almost ruined in the puddle last night. There isn't much use in trying to get the mud off of them. It was about eight as I walked to the park. Hoseok was waiting on a bench for me.

"I got you something." He said. "I noticed you fell yesterday,"

Of course. I wanted to hide in a hole away from all of my embarrassing moments.

"So I bought you some new shoes." He looked down at my muddy high tops and smirked.

"Oh my gosh Hoseok, thank you so much. I don't know how to repay you."

I put on the new shoes, hoping he wouldn't notice my mismatched Hello Kitty socks.

"Shall we start dancing?" He said in an adorable fake British accent.

I put my hand on his shoulder, and he spinned me around and lifted me off of the ground. I could dance under the stars forever, with just the sound of the music on his cracked phone, and our breathing.

We decided to take a break and catch our breath.

"That was fun!" He smiled. "You are a good dancer for a beginner."

As we were sitting on the bench together I thought it was a good time to tell him how I felt.

"Um, Hoseok-"

"Call me Hobi."

"Hobi, There is something I have been wanting to tell you, I have just been nervous..."

I was interrupted by a strange man staring at my purse.

"How much did that purse cost?" He asked. I couldn't see his face in the dark, but he made me extremely uncomfortable.

"Why do you want to know?" I asked, while trying to be brave.

"May I ask you to leave?" Hoseok sneered.

"If you really want me too." The man began to walk away, but suddenly ran back to snatch my bag.

"Hey, give that back!" I ran after him.

Hoseok grabbed his shoulders and threw a punch. The other man kicked him in the stomach as he flinched in pain. I was furious. I ran over to punch the man but he shoved me onto the ground. My whole body ached. With every breath my leg, which had the most damage, throbbed with pain. From what I could see from down here Hoseok punched the man in the face. The man looked at Hoseok one more time and left.
