Z'awe stood next to her mother as her father reprimanded Aonung. Their parents were always hard on Aonung, him being the future chief came with responsibilities Aonung couldn't keep up with. He wanted to live his life, but he was tied down to a decided future

"You have disappointed me son." Tonowari said. Aonung's shoulders deflated, he looked down annoyance coating his features.

"Go, go hunt" Tonowari demanded. Aonung brushed off his mothers hand as he stormed to the ocean.

"He'll cool off and come to reason mom" Z'awe comforted.

"Toruk Macto and his family are welcomed to our home and all they have caused are problems" Ronal hissed, Tonowari and Z'awe winced.

"Ronal, we have to let them adjust they are not used to our ways" Tonowari said caressing her cheek. Ronal tsked and stormed away much like her son

"They are more alike then they presume" Z'awe muttered. Tonowari hummed and looked at his daughter, he ruffled her hair and Z'awe groaned pushing his hand away

Z'awe saw Neteyam sitting on the docks his feet in the water swaying slightly. He watched the ripples of water fade out, it reminded him of his dwindling confidence in himself how poetic.

"Hey" Z'awe called out carefully. He looked up his face momentarily lighting up but soon faded.

"Hey" he let out. She sat next to him, looking at him as if one wrong move she would be pushed into the ocean under them.

"Are you alright? Have you had your injuries checked out" Z'awe asked, giving him a once over, her eyes lingering on his cut lip longer than the rest

Neteyam's heart was going haywire. It was pounding against his ribs, so hard that he felt bruises would form. He watched as she stared at his lips, wanting her to just grab his face and lock them together. His eyes drifted to her own lips, they looked so soft and plump, he really wanted to kiss her.

"Neteyam?" Z'awe questioned a blush across her cheeks from his intense stare on lips.

"Hm?" He said his gaze moving away from her lips to her eyes.

Shit go back to looking at my lips, this is worse. Z'awe's heart was now going at a rapid pace, her breath got stuck in her throat as they held eye contact. Their eyes differed, his eyes shone of gold and yellow, specks of darker shades here and there. Her eyes shone of the ocean, vibrant blue with touches of green, morphed together

"Your eyes are really pretty" Z'awe complimented, she was telling the truth. It was simply an observation.

Neteyam's cheeks noticeably darkened, he opened and closed his mouth like a fish as he spluttered for a response.
