"The People In The Woods?" Hobi asked curiously.
"Yes. It's the documentary! With those men who all went missing!" Jin exclaimed.
"And what's your point, hyung? What does a documentary about people in the woods have to do with anything?" Namjoon asked.
"I'm telling you guys, it could be a clue. We have to watch it! Now! Please just hear me out. Let's just watch the documentary, and see what we can take from it, okay? Please?" Jin begged the others. He was desperate for them to take into consideration that the documentary might help them figure something out. He couldn't get all the pictures of those missing young men out of his mind.
"Fine." Yoongi crossed his arms. "But don't expect much from a stupid movie. Sitting around watching a movie isn't going to find them." Yoongi couldn't help but be skeptical. He felt like sitting around watching TV was more of a waste of time.
"Just trust me," Jin said. He gestured for everyone to meet up in the living room as he tried to find the documentary on any of the streaming services they had. Unfortunately it was nowhere to be found.
"Well how old is the documentary? When did you even watch it?" Jimin asked.
"Maybe when I was like 17?" Jin replied.
"Yah! Real helpful!" Jimin whined. Yoongi walked over to the TV and brought up the internet. "Let me handle this." The rapper was also a wizard with technology, and managed to get a boot leg copy of the documentary started on the TV.
"Now everyone just be quiet and watch this," Jin demanded. They sat around and watched the documentary start. It began with interviews from people whose family members or friends went missing. Only to never be found. People started talking about a lost colony in the woods.
People who kidnapped and enslaved young men.
People who shot the men when they tried escaping.
People who would control, beat, and murder their "possessions."
Yoongi paused it. "Stop. This is stupid. This doesn't exist."
"How would you know that, huh?!" Jin asked angrily.
"It was debunked a long time ago, Jin! Look!" Yoongi had looked it up online and there were articles about how the documentary was fake, a hoax, how nothing was ever proven, and how it was just a myth because no such place had ever been found and no 'survivors' were around to talk about it.
"They could be wrong," Jin sulked.
"Yeah? Then why is there no footage of this place? All this documentary is, is people being interviewed about what they think happened. There's no proof." Yoongi was frustrated. He was hoping for answers but once again, only had more questions.
"Yeah...hyungie...I'm sorry but as much as I was hoping this would help us...I don't want this to be what happened to them. You're trying to tell me they might have been taken and thrown into something like that?" Jimin asked. There was fear in his eyes. He didn't want anything so cruel to be true.
Jin was angry. He grabbed the remote from Yoongi and hit play again. "Just shut up and keep watching it!" So they did, and once it was over, the others didn't feel any differently. They felt like the whole thing was a lost cause.
Jin was crying. "It's more than the police have come up with."
"Jin..." Namjoon started. "I know you're trying to help, but this..." the leader gestured to the TV, "This isn't real. There aren't some barbarians living in isolation going around kidnapping and killing people."
"You don't know that. Explain how all those men, explain how our boys, went missing. Since you're so fuckin smart, Namjoon. Go ahead, what's your theory? I don't see any of you trying to figure this out." Jin's tears were pouring down his cheeks.
"We're all trying to figure this out!" Namjoon yelled defensively.
"Then we have to take into consideration that this is real! What did the cop say before, huh? 'Explore every option'. And this is one! It's the most we have to work with so far!"
"Jin hyung, listen to me. Assuming this was real...assuming this is what happened to Taehyungie and Jungkookie...they'd be dead by now and I refuse to believe that!" Hobi cried. "They would have tried to escape, meaning they would have been shot. Or if not that, if some guy is trying to enslave them they would fight back and just get themselves killed. So I think we're better off assuming this isn't real, and this isn't what happened."
Jin stood up. He was heartbroken that nobody was listening to what he was trying to say. He wanted them to at least consider the idea. "I thought we would all do anything, absolutely anything, to find and save those two."
Jimin stood up in front of Jin. "We would do anything. Of course we'd do anything."
"Then let's do one thing right for once, and I repeat, explore every option! Please!" Jin screamed. "I just want to find my babies and the cops haven't done shit! Say it's not real, say it's a myth, then fine. But we won't know unless we look! We don't know unless we try! We have to at least try! Please-" Jin got choked up with his sobs. Jimin wrapped his arms around his hyung and hugged him tightly, as he started crying too.
Namjoon threw his arms in the air. "Alright! Fine! Let's assume this is real, and this is what happened to them. Where do we start? Nobody has ever found this place, and apparently it's in the middle of the woods. Do you know how much of Korea is surrounded by woods? They could be anywhere in the country!"
"We can research. Look into it. Explore where people think it might be," Jin said.
"People already explored where they think it might be, and found nothing. Hence why it was debunked as not real, Jin," Yoongi said furiously. He was still skeptical, but at the same time his heart lightened up as he realized Jin had a point. They had to try and do anything at this point. Even if it meant exploring some myth.
"Maybe they never looked hard enough," Hobi chimed in.
Jimin was crying into Jin's chest. "I don't want them to be hurt."
Jin rubbed his dongsaengs back. "Then we better get a move on it and start looking."
"But where?" Yoongi asked. "Like Joonie said, where do we start?"
"Someone has to know or have seen something," Jin said.
"So what do we do?" Yoongi asked.
"Something the cops haven't started doing yet." There was an immediate new side to Jin. He went from sulky and crying to immediately being assertive and determined.
"We knock on every door in this entire country and start fuckin asking..." Jin started marching towards the door and then opened it. "South Korea is a big place...
So we better get started."
