chapter one: 「First day, first friend」

It was an endless void. Heavy breathing can be heard, followed by running footsteps.

A woman with long strands of black hair ran endlessly for her life with a terrified and tired look on her face. She was on the verge of collapsing, but she still ran. The growling of the demon chasing her forced her to run as fast as her legs can go. "You can't get away from me, hiruki! Punch me, hurt me, kill me! I'll always be by your side!" A man with brown hair and a feral look on his face growled as he tried reaching for hiruki.

Hiruki yelped when she almost tripped on a rock, stubbing her toe in the process, but she continued to run. "Leave me alone, you Delusional fuck! I don't love you and I never will!" She shouted, causing the brown-haired man scream furiously as he picked up his pace. He reached his hand out and grabbed a handful of her soft and silky hair before pulling on it, making the woman scream and shout for him to stop. He only ignored her and pull on her hair harder. "You made me do this. It's all your fault." "Shut the fuck up and let go, fucking bitch!" Hiruki dug her nails into his arms, making them bleed as he let out a screech. In anger, he pulled out his pocket knife, making hiruki's pupils shrink as she felt her soul leave her body before coming back again. She was about to pull her hands back but the man was much faster than her. He placed hiruki's hands on the ground and stepped on her elbow. She groaned as she grabbed onto the man's foot, trying to push it off as she felt pain overtake her body. "I've given you everything you want and yet you still disobey me. As punishment, I shall misfortune on your silly little grandchildren. All the tears and flesh that I've shed, they'll all be dropped down the earth and onto the people. They'll feel how crazy I am for you, How much I wanna be with you!" Hiruki's eyes widened as the pocket knife got near her fingernails. Realizing his motives, she tried to fight back, hitting him and moving around as much, but he didn't stop. He slowly dug the knife between her nails and started taking them off one by one, slowly and painfully as Hiruki let out a Blood-curling scream that echoed through the dark abyss.

A bunch of shouting woke the girl up and she suddenly sat up with a gasp. She looked like she had seen some things. Her h/c-hair was messy and there were traces of dried tears on her cheeks and drool on her chin. She continued to catch her breath as if she just ran a whole marathon until she heard a familiar voice just outside her room. "Just shut up and wake her up before I do so myself!" A woman yelled. The girl then heard little angry footsteps coming her way before the door opened.

A boy with white hair that reached up to his shoulders came in. He had red eyes and pale skin as if he came out of a vampire movie. He was about 4'11 and skinny. He let out a surprised 'oh!'. "Y/n-san, you're awake! Good morning. Did you have a good sleep?" He beamed, jumping his way toward y/n's bed and jumped on her, making her yelp in surprise before chuckling."Good morning to you too, Shikoku." She said with a sweet, honey-coated tone that reminded him of a mother as she smiled softly at him, patting his head, and making him purr like a cat.

Y/n turned to her bedside table and opened her drawer, taking out a f/c hair tie. She put shikoku's hair in a low ponytail and tied it before cupping his face. She then put two red hairpin on his bangs so they wouldn't get on his face. Though, some slipped off the hairpin.
