Alya was Marienette's best friend. And Nino was Adrien's best friend. It was no secret that Marinette and Adrien had feelings for each other. But Adrien was far too oblivious to admit it, this friend-zoning her. Alya and Nino once set up a date for the two of them, but their relationship hadn't progressed since, much to their frustration. Both Marinette and Adrien were overjoyed at the greatly anticipated revelation that they started dating.

"We should set those two up, don't you think?" Adrien questioned randomly. Marinette and Adrien were sitting on the school steps after the bell signalling the end of school went. Adrien was rambling on about how he adored and idolised Ladybug, and Marinette was secretly pleased, and unsatisfied all the same, quite paradoxically.

"H-huh???Ah, ah yeah...Yeah, we should!" Marinette was distracted by Adrien's mesmerising, enticing, emerald-green eyes. The way his silky, luscious, sandy blonde locks framed his inexplicably symmetrical, pulchritudinous face. He paired his eye contact with a wide grin as he gazed into her enticing bluebell eyes. Marinette and Adrien decided that it would be fun to set the two up on a date since they were 'taking it slowly.'

"But what...?"

---

Alya's phone buzzed during the savoury ten-minute break they had between period 1 and period 2.

Marinette: Meet me at the park today after school!

Alya instantly grinned, and her thumbs moved at the speed of light, to form a response.

Alya: Kk girl will do! Inviting Adrien? 🧐😎😏

Marinette: N-no! He's busy today!

Alya stuffed her phone in her pocket as she absent-mindedly selected her necessary textbooks for the following classes, and rushed to Maths. Several minutes earlier, Nino received the same text message from Adrien, and little did they know, it was a set-up...

Marinette and Adrien had textiles together and sat next to each other, and kept giggling whilst imagining the date. What was unknown to Adrien was that she was trying hard to play it cool. She could practically smell his aquatic cologne from a mile and was trying hard to fight the numerous butterflies swarming her stomach. While Marinette sowed the remainder of her scarf for Adrien suddenly leaned towards her, so close that their faces were practically squashed against each other, and their shoulders made contact. He whispered into her ear," I can bet Nino will be a blushing mess." Which caused Marinette to laugh out loud randomly, much to her teacher's annoyance, which earned glances from her classmates, in particular, a bashful smile and a wave from the ginger-haired artist Nathaniel. Being polite, she returned it, only to see Adrien scowling. Next, they were separated, and Marinette longed to be with Adrien again.

---

Alya had IT with Nino, something they both loved. Fortunately, they were partners.

"I'm one step closer to discovering Ladybug 's true identity!" Alya rambled, she was displaying her blog to Nino, which surprised him since he didn't realise she had so many fans.

"I'm sure you'll find out one day, Alya!" Nino grinned shyly while rubbing the back of his neck. And Alya returned that smile. Their computers were so cramped up, Nino and Alya were practically squashed together, much to Mini's great embarrassment. What he didn't know was that the brown-haired girl felt the same, but she was playing it safe. Nino gazed admiringly at her gorgeous features from out of the corner of his eye, chin resting in hand, The way her lips formed a straight line of concentration as the tab she was on reflected in her glasses. Her silky smooth soft brown hair, slightly wavy fell past her shoulders. She adjusted her glasses and continued typing.

How frustrating it was when two people obviously like each other but they're just too oblivious to see it.

A deafening, shrill piercing sound rang through the air symboling the end of the school day, and Alya jolted up. She grabbed her belongings, and ran with the other kids, ecstatic to hang out with her best friend after an exasperating day. But if Alya hang back a bit longer, she would've heard what Nino wanted to say.

She sat on a bench, patiently waiting for her pigtailed sidekick. The sun cast its glorious, serene golden beams of light down on the park, bringing joy to the scene. Everyone was laughing and having a good time. Alya knew Marinette had issues with punctuality, and she didn't mind. After all, Alya wouldn't have it any other way. Alya received a text from an unknown number, telling her to go to the oak tree. And then she spotted a familiar sight. It was Nino! Did he have a surprise date in mind? And a red and white checkered picnic blanket.

"Did you do this?" She questioned

"Uh...No.It's a note from Marinette and Adrien. Read it."

She picked up the fragile piece of white paper.

'Hey, Alya! Have fun on your spontaneous date!'

-Marinette and Adrien

She giggled, she expected nothing less from her best friend. Blood rushed to her face, turning it crimson the second her brain processed the meaning of 'date'She didn't even get changed! She didn't do ANYTHING. She probably looked like a mess.

"Something wrong?"

"I didn't get ready, this wasn't planned. I-"

"Alya, you always look gorgeous. And so what if this wasn't planned? That's the beauty of it." Alya was so grateful to have such an understanding, sweet and loyal boyfriend like him.

"So...we eat?" Nino struggled just as much as Alya did.

"Yeah..." Nino and Alya took their seats on the picnic blanket. Then they opened the basket, jaw agape to discover it was full of Marinette's mouth-watering macaroons, and other French pastries.

"Going great so far," Adrien whispered

"Y-Yeah." Marinette agreed. They were currently crouching down while hiding behind the bushes in the park to ensure their foolproof date went to plan. Marinette felt ecstatic, knowing her bestie had found true love, and it was none other than her crush's best friend. She longed to have something similar with Adrien. Marinette slyly glanced at Adrien's pulchritudinous face, and  looked away with a sigh.' We're just friends...' She remembered miserably.

"That reminds me, Marinette. I've been meaning to tell you something."

"Hmmm?"

"I love you." Adrien cupped Marinette's face and leaned in. Adrien's lips crashed into pink, voluptuous,  smooth lips.

Those were the three words Marinette had been wanting to hear her whole life.
