Weeks after the horrendous and surreal Hunger Games simulation, most of the Star Darlings were resting in the Star Quad. Their period of rest was rudely ruined though when a complete stranger in a suit marched up to them holding several pieces of delicately folded paper.
"What in the—" Scarlet glanced at the man. "He seems like a creep."
A sigh came from Piper. "Who is he?"
"Hello students." He gave a stiff bow at them. "Would you like a chance to win 100%, completely free money?"
"We're not that stupid. It's probably a scam. Your probably gonna hack our parent's credit card or leave us with counterfeit money or arcade game tokens—" Rambled Gemma in offense.
"—How much are we talking?" Leona interrupted, now super interested.
"1,000 Star Pecunia."
"For FREE? Count me in! So is this like a lottery ticket thing or what?"
The man gave a soft smirk. "No. In order to be eligible, you need to win at a specific game..." He gave Leona a yellow piece of paper folded into a perfect square, just like the rest. He then got his own square paper. "If you manage to make my paper flip and fly up at least once, you get the chance."
"Huh." She lifted her shoulders. "Sounds easy enough."
Tessa face palmed with a few others. "This is gonna backfire badly..."Leona thrusted her paper with all her might at the one on the floor, but it didn't budge even an inch. The second she glimpsed at the ground in disappointment, her right cheek was slapped by the man's hand.
"WHAT THE HELL? Your gonna SLAP me over a piece of paper??"
He lifted his shoulders. "I forgot to tell you all the rules. If you lose, I get to slap you."
"This game is messed up. Sounds like something to use as an excuse for child abuse." Scoffed Astra. "Quit Leona, it's not worth it."
"Did you hear the man? I have a chance to win one thousand Star Pecunia!" Leona glanced at her paper in determination. "It can't hurt to try."
"I guess..." Cassie fixed up her glasses. "Just hope nothing else weird comes out of this."The game went on and Leona gathered up more losses and several more slaps on her face. Every single time she launched her paper to propel the man's paper into the atmosphere, she growled in frustration as reality denied her her wishes. Meanwhile, every time the man had his turn, her little paper always flew up like a firecracker into the sky before falling back down again.
So far, Tessa seemed right. They had fifty-five turns in total and none of those were wins for Leona.
"You really should quit now." Vega advised, nervously counting up all the turns. "Your cheek is getting more and more red from all the slaps. Maybe stop and put some ice on it?-"
"Nah. I'm not going down without a fight."The rest of them awaited, watching as Leona tried one more time to get at least one win.
With as much force as she could muster in her hand, she launched the yellow square shaped paper on the man's. It slammed onto the other paper, throwing it up for one whole second before falling back down again.
Leona had one win.
"YES! YESSSSS!! FINALLY—" She screamed in ecstasy before slapping the man's face as revenge. "HOW DOES THAT FEEL NOW?"
The man's face didn't squirm once. "Impressive."She was handed a shiny business card that had nothing but a circle, triangle, and square perfectly printed on it. A phone number was on the back.
"What is this? Am I supposed to check this in to get my money?"
"No. You see that was nothing compared to what you'll need to do to get even more... we don't have many spots left, so if you still want it you better act quickly."
"I KNEW this was a shady scam!" Gemma pointed at the man. "He's definitely a criminal!"As the SDs including Leona stared at each other in uneasiness, several weird people dressed in pink hazmats with black masks that had circles on them arrived at the scene in perfect unison.
"Kay, now's the time to get the heck out of here." Uttered Scarlet as they all started to scram. But sparkly, glitter-filled fog from handheld cannons by the soldiers stopped them from doing so.

A loud snore came from Leona as she rested in bed. Only to be shaked awake by an alert Vega.
"Let me sleep, isn't it the weekend—" Leona complained, pausing as she spotted the room they were in and what everyone was wearing. "What is happening? Why are you wearing that? Why am I wearing that?-"
"I don't know! But you got us into this!"
"Don't you dare blame this on me!"Hundreds of other students from both Starling Academy and Star Preparatory were all dressed in the same uniform— a white shirt, a bluish green jacket and running pants and sneakers that were nothing to write home about. Most of them were awake and wandering around, huddling with their friends in confusion and panic about what was happening. The rest were trying to get some sleep on the bunkers that were stacked on each and every wall.
Leona took a look at her uniform. Hers had 430 on it. Everyone else had different numbers, as if they were designated with them.
As expected, the two sisters Tessa and Gemma sticked together.
"How did my clothes become this? Did those soldiers change my clothes while I was sleeping? ISN'T THAT ILLEGAL TO DO TO A TEEN?-" Gemma sputtered out in disgust.
Suddenly the front entrance of the room, which was locked until then, opened to allow people in pink hazmats to enter. Only their masks had a square instead of a circle."Welcome to the Squid Games. You all are here for an opportunity to win a jackpot prize of money— Over 1,000,000 moonium. Over six days, all of you will participate in six games. Those who lose will be eliminated and those who win will move onto the next round. The single person left at the end gets the grand prize, and any contestants who cheat or don't follow the rules. You are not allowed to stop playing once the games start. The first game, Red Light Green Light will begin in 15 minutes. Please prepare yourselves now."
Their voices sounded computer generated, and virtually completely monotone.
"Well, at least this doesn't involve dying and killing like that Hunger Games thing." Awkwardly went Sage. "How bad can this be?
"Right. If we all lose it won't be the end of the world." Grinned Libby. "And then we can find out what weirdo caused all of this to happen."Fifteen minutes passed, and then they were all lend into a room that tried to be an acre of fake farmland with a massive robotic doll at the end.
Hiiiiii, the next round of Red Light Green Light is coming soon, BUT I need you all to vote for who should survive in the round!
Vote here pls lmao (Link in comment for copy and pasting)
