" get me some peanuts and some ice "she gave me the money

I put on my sandals and grab my phone and walk out the door

I walk pass my big cousin Ray, " wassup lil kid "

I wave and kept walking

I know y'all thinking why you ain't say nothing, its cause I can't talk well i can but i only talk sometimes

it took me till the age of five to say my first word

I get to the corner store and all i here is dudes being loud and girls tryna be seen

I get grandmas' peanuts and ice pay for it and leave the store

I look on my phone and see its six o'clock

i call my mom

" hi momma " i whisper

" hey baby how you been? " she ask

" i'm ok "

" have you been talking lately? "

" not really "

" treasure we've talked about this you need to start talking to people at least for me "

she hangs up and just now getting in the house

i give grandma her peanuts and ice and head to my room

i start drawing in my coloring book, i color to calm down my adhd

Ray opens my door, " hey i know you don't be talking and be around like that but i was wondering if you want to go a party with me? "

" listen just- wait did you just say yes " he tilt his head

" i told my momma i'll try to talk "

" mhkayy well get dressed we gone leave in 2 hours " he closes my door

I put my color pencils and coloring book on my night stand

I went to my closet and picked out an outfit

I grab my white tight shirt, black biker shorts, and my panda dunks

I straighten my hair and did my baby hairs

i put on my black glasses that i got off shein

for a mute girl I can really dress

i go to the bathroom and brush my teeth and wash my face

Ray open my door, "you ready cous- damnnn" he leaned back

i let out a smile laugh, "what?"

"ian know you can dress lil cousin"

i shrug my shoulders, "i didnt know i could either"

"ok well lets get to the party"
