Morro tried to say But all ninjas suddenly collapsed
The ninja slowly woke up, realizing that they were tied all together in a strange building surrounded by even stranger people.
Lloyd wiggled against the restraints, “What do you want from us?” He demanded.
The people surrounding the ninja where dark blue like an evening sky, dotted here and there with marks that looks like stars. Their hair and facial features were starkly white, glowing in a way that caused the ninja to squint against the brightness of them.
One of the figures stepped forward. She appeared to be a leader of the people, dressed slightly different from the rest. A very clear star shaped mark sat in the middle of her forehead, “You have been charged with trespassing on the land of the Spirit Dwellers,” she spoke reverently, her voice reverberating around the cavern.
“What?” the ninja yelled at once.
“We didn’t even know you existed, let alone we were trespassing on your land, not to be rude,” Lloyd replied.
“Regardless of your intentions, you must be judged by our Grand Leader,” the lady spoke again.
In a swift wind, all of a sudden all of the Spirit Dwellers were gone, leaving the ninja alone.
“Well that was weird,” Kaia voiced, “Anyways, does anyone have any suggestions on how we can get out of here?”
“I’ve got you,” Celine answered, producing a small knife from her belt. She slit the rope and hurriedly the ninja searched for an escape.
“Guys over here!” Kai motioned towards a door across the room. Once the ninja were all at the door, Kai pushed it open, only for everyone to stumble back.
“Woah! Who’s idea was it to put a door right on the edge of a cliff?” Jay questioned.
“Who cares,” Kai retorted, “This is our only ticket out of here and we need to take it. Zane, what is the probability that we’ll be able to fall and survive?”
“Approximately 80%,” Zane quoted, “Injuries will be at random, so make sure you fall wisely.”
One after another the ninja descended down the cliff, tucking and rolling so as not to injure themselves. Vania, on the other hand, fall right on her tail bone.
“Ow! My spine!”
“Walk it off,” Celine spat.
“Celine! That wasn’t very nice,” Orano corrected.
“Well that’s basically what she told me after I went through some of the most physical trauma I had ever endured. She’ll survive,” Celine replied.
“Is everyone else okay?” Orano asked.
Kaia hesitated before responding, “I’m not.”
“What’s wrong?” Orano inquired, concern in his voice for his sister.
Kaia held out her arm, “I think it’s broken.”
“We should try to put some distance between us and those Spirit Dwellers,” Lloyd said.
“We need to look after Kaia,” Orano protested.
“We’ll just get a little farther away,” Lloyd turned to Kaia, “Do you think you can walk for a bit?”
“Yeah, I think so,” Kaia answered.
“Good, now let’s get going.”
“No, we need to stay close until morning when Yakuki will come back,” Orano insisted, “She can heal Kaia and we can ask her about the Spirit Dwellers.”
“If Kaia can walk, we need to get away from them, not stay here longer!” Lloyd argued.
“Guys, there’s no use arguing, let’s just keep moving,” Kaia interjected.
As the ninja moved to hike away from the building, they took in the landscape. The woods had changed somehow. They now glowed a strange blue with surprisingly bright starlight shining through the dense foliage.
Morro walked up beside Kaia, “Do you mind if I have a look at your arm? I might be able to help with the pain from my wind powers.”
Looking relived, Kaia nodded, “If you could, that would be great.” She held her arm up and smiled weakly at Morro as he used his wind powers to soothe the pain.
