Alex felt a sense of relief wash over him. He was glad that George had brought it up, it meant that they could put it behind them and move on. He didn't want to ruin their friendship over something that was just a moment of weakness.
"Yeah, I think you're right," George said, trying to sound casual. "It was just a moment of weakness, we got caught up in the mood of the movie."
"Exactly," Alex agreed, trying to keep the conversation light. "We shouldn't let it affect our friendship."
George laughed nervously, "Yeah, of course not."
But as he excused himself and left the room, Alex couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness. He knew that George was hiding something and he couldn't shake the feeling that he had hurt him.
Meanwhile, Wilbur noticed that George was awfully busy that day for some reason. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off with his friend. He decided to take a chance and ask Alex out for dinner.
"Hey Alex, do you want to grab dinner tonight?" Wilbur asked, trying to sound casual.
Alex hesitated for a moment, but he knew that he needed to get out of the house and clear his head. "Sure, that sounds great," he said, trying to sound enthusiastic.
The two of them left the house and headed to a nearby restaurant. As they sat down at the table, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt wash over him. He knew that he should have been honest with George about his feelings, but he was afraid of ruining their friendship. He couldn't help but feel a little guilty for agreeing to go out on a date with Wilbur.
As they sat down at the table, Wilbur said, "So, Alex, how have you been? I've noticed that you've been a bit distant lately."
Alex hesitated for a moment before replying, "I've just been a bit preoccupied with some things. But I'm fine, thanks for asking."
Wilbur nodded and said, "I know that you and George have been roommates for a while now, and I just wanted to make sure that everything was okay between you two. I know that living with someone can be tough at times."
Alex smiled and said, "Yeah, it can be tough, but George and I are good. We're just going through some adjustments with the new living arrangements."
Wilbur nodded and said, "I understand. I just want to make sure that everything is okay between you two. I know that you're both important to me, and I don't want anything to come between you two."
Alex smiled and said, "Thanks, Wilbur. I appreciate that."
The two of them chatted for a while longer, but Alex couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt. He knew that he should be focusing on the conversation and enjoying his time with Wilbur, but his mind kept drifting back to what had happened with George the night before.
As they continued to talk, Wilbur couldn't help but notice that Alex seemed preoccupied. He decided to take a more subtle approach in trying to make a move on him. He started to drop hints and make innuendos, hoping that Alex would catch on and respond in kind.
"So, Alex, have you ever been in a situation where you just couldn't help but be attracted to someone? Like, no matter how hard you tried, you just couldn't shake off those feelings," Wilbur said, trying to gauge Alex's reaction.
Alex shifted in his seat, feeling a bit uncomfortable. He knew that Wilbur was trying to make a move on him, but he didn't want to lead him on. "I, uh, I don't know. I guess it depends on the situation," he stammered, trying to avoid the topic.
Wilbur could sense that Alex was uncomfortable and decided to back off for a bit. He didn't want to push too hard and risk ruining their friendship. He decided to change the subject and the two of them continued to talk about other things.
As the night went on, Wilbur couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something there between him and Alex. He knew that he needed to be patient and take things slow, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment that Alex didn't seem to be feeling the same way.
After dinner, the two of them headed back home. Alex thanked Wilbur for the meal and they said their goodbyes. As they parted ways, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness wash over him. He knew that he had to be honest with Wilbur and himself about his feelings, but he didn't know how to go about it.
