Raze has been slowly getting used to life in this different world. Although it has never really been smooth sailing, she has found herself starting to enjoy waking up to a new day. Although she seems to be happier because Zera is by her side, otherwise she may not have adapted so quickly.
The Village has been full of gossip about the marriage between the two isolated women. Of course, with gossip, also comes snide remarks.
"They're perfect for each other. A freak and a whore. At least this will save that bitch from seducing the men of the village" a bulky middle aged woman sneered.
"I don't know about that, although she may have a cock, but can she really satisfy that whore, like a man can?" replied an unkempt and foul mouthed older woman.
These two usually mix amongst the old women of the village, spilling out some vile words from time to time, to sate their boredom. Too much free time has proven to fuel these cruel and despicable thoughts. Most of these people need to rely on others living worse lives, as if in some demented way, their lives can appear better.
Zera has heard these words since she was a a child. At first she didn't understand what it meant, but as she got older, she knew that those people would make up whatever they wanted to, as if it was only right to crush her spirit and ruin her reputation.
When she was young, she couldn't understand why there would be such vicious people in the world, but now she understands that they think of her as weak, so they can just bully her at will. After all, who let her be a weak and helpless bastard girl, born to a prostitute mother.
She walked past them as she did everyday, ignoring their despicable remarks as she always did, but for some reason they didn't seem to want to let her go today.
"Oh if it isn't the newly married girl. Shouldn't you be enjoying your bridal chamber? Ah wait, you haven't held your wedding yet. Did you go out to earn a little dowry for yourself first?" said the foul mouthed woman.
Zera kept walking on as if she hadn't heard anything, but none of them noticed the footsteps calmly approaching.
Raze had come out to look for Zera who had gone out to check their fields, when she overheard the cruel insults the two old women were spewing at Zera. Just like the words of that ugly old man when she first travelled over, she felt a searing rage burning through her, so much so that she walked calmly towards the two women.
Without waiting for them to notice her, she swung her fist from behind, straight into the side of the foul mouthed woman's face. The sound of the woman's bones cracking rang out in the vicinity, which alerted Zera who was walking away.
Out of curiosity she turned back and once again saw her new wife attacking people. She wondered absent-mindedly if Raze just had violent tendencies, otherwise why does she always start with her fists. Luckily there aren't any powerful people in this village compared to her family, or she would've been driven out long ago.
However she couldn't say she didn't enjoy the scene of her hurting the people that harassed her. The two women were trying to shield themselves from Raze's attack as much as possible. She could see Raze looking around on the ground, and after not finding anything she seemed to become more annoyed, choosing to kick and stomp them out of frustration.
"Was she looking for a weapon?" Zera thought calmly.
The Village was not a big place, so the cries of the two women resounded through many of the homes, drawing the attention of the curious inhabitants. When they saw that Raze was beating others again, they weren't surprised and when they saw the two being beaten, they were even less surprised.
The two on the ground are the ones with the most vicious tongues in the village. They rely on them being older to mess around. They are quite strong compared to the other women of the village, and they're completely Shameless. Both screaming, shouting and harassing, they are experts.
It's not that those women that were gossiped about by them never complained, but even if they told their husbands, those men couldn't justify putting their hands on women, which led to the arrogance of those two old women.
Now seeing Raze beating them mercilessly, they can't help but feel great satisfaction. However they still put on distressed faces and pleaded with her to let them go. After all, they were old and their bodies probably couldn't handle the tossing.
Raze ignored the voices and stopped when the two old women could only let out feeble groans. She looked at them like they were already dead.
"This is my warning. Don't think I won't lay my hands on women. If I catch you speaking about my wife, your punishment will only be infinitely more severe".
The cold tone sent a chill up the spines of the people standing around. They knew her reputation. She had proven time and time again that Zera was under her protection, but many were careless, thinking that she was just using her for fun.
Raze walked over to Zera, just about to reach out and grab her hand, when she noticed that her hands were covered in blood. She quickly retracted them, not willing to soil Zera. But Zera didn't care, she pulled out a handkerchief and gently rubbed Raze's hands while whispering.
"Thank you Raze, but you didn't have to do that for me".
Raze looked at Zera and said seriously "Yes, I did. What they said was disgusting and cruel. Even if it was true, it's not their turn to judge you, and I know that what they said was just pure slander and lies.
But most importantly, you're my wife. How can I let them speak like that to you?".
When hearing Raze speak at first. She knew that Raze was a kind person. So as long as you didn't do anything wrong, she would always be friendly, but even so, she felt a little loss in her heart.
However after hearing the latter words, the loss instantly turned into warmth, a small rosy blush appearing on her cheeks, and the tips of her ears.
