Raze smiled and thanked Zera for getting the bath ready. She quickly took off the stained clothing and briefly washed off the blood and sweat before getting into the bath. Laying in the tub she felt exhausted and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.
Zera came out of the kitchen with the meals and felt something was wrong. Once again there were no splashes from the room. She called for Raze, but there was no answer. She felt a familiar sense of deja vu. Walking into the room she wasn't surprised, just like the night before, her husband was fast asleep in the tub.
She wondered what magical effect this tub had to make Raze doze off two nights in a row. She helplessly looked at the bloodstains Raze still had on her body. Thinking about the huge amount of work Raze was forced to do today. She decided that she'd let her rest for a while.
She quickly took some hot water from the stove and poured it into the tub, making sure to avoid letting it directly touch Raze's body. She then rolled up her sleeves and while blushing, began to help bathe her sleeping husband.
She swiftly washed all the noticeable dirt and stains off, but when it came to her body she paused.
"Maybe I should leave these areas alone" she thought hesitantly.
However when she saw the dark circles around Raze's eyes she decided to just get it over and done with.
"It's not a big deal. I'm just helping clean her up. This is my duty as a wife" she managed to convince herself.
Using a cloth dipped in warm water she began to gently scrub Raze's body. Feeling the softness of certain places and the rigidness of others almost made her look as red as a boiled lobster. She felt that the days ploughing was nothing compared to the task she had just undertaken. Not wanting Raze to catch a cold she decided to wake Raze up and let her eat quickly before they went to bed.
"Raze, Raze. Wake up, the bath waters about to go cold".
Raze heard a gentle voice calling her name. Waking up she felt very comfortable. She looked around and saw Zera crouching next to her.
"What's wrong?" she asked still not fully awake.
"The water is about to lose its temperature. Hurry up and get dressed, then come have dinner".
Raze's sanity returned with Zera's words. Looking down she was completely naked. She had to wonder why she kept embarrassing herself in front of Zera, in this way. Quickly grabbing the towel and thanking Zera she stood up and began to dry off.
Zera was still shy seeing Raze, so she quickly picked up the dirty clothes and walked out of the room.
After Raze was dressed she came out to the dining area and saw the steaming food on the table. She sat down and greedily ate the meal.
"Delicious, as usual" she thought contentedly.
Zera seemed to know her portion size well. There was just enough food to fill her stomach. She swiftly washed the dishes and then returned to the room. Zera was already laying in bed but still opened the quilt for Raze to get in.
Raze always felt that there was something wrong. She seemed to be getting along too easily with Zera. She originally wanted to have someone tell her information about this world. A person who could be used without fear of repercussions, but in just two days she felt that she was becoming accustomed to this life she had never lived before. Zera was too accommodating. She felt if this went on she'd just become spoiled by Zera.
"Is there any contradiction with getting along well, and having that person help me?" she contemplated.
She wanted to be cautious. She didn't know if others had come before her? and if they had, were they found out?
She didn't believe she was special enough to be the only person that managed to come here. She kept worrying that she'd be arrested and tortured because of her origin. But she just couldn't seem to put up any reasonable defense against Zera. These thoughts plagued her mind before she finally drifted off into an uneasy slumber.
When Raze woke up, Zera was no longer beside her. Looking at the sun outside, she knew she had overslept. When she walked out and felt the fresh morning breeze she seemed to be rejuvenated. Zera was sitting on a stool doing the laundry. Looking at her hands red from the cold, Raze felt guilty. She went over to Zera and asked if she could replace her doing so.
Zera thought about her underwear that had yet to be washed and quickly declined. It was very embarrassing to have your husband see these things.
Raze must have seen her embarrassed expression and understood what she was thinking, but as someone who had been seen naked twice already, she didn't feel any shame for Zera washing her clothes. She just felt that it wasn't fair to her, to have to get up so early to do the chores while she was still sleeping. However if Zera didn't want help, then she wasn't going to be the blockhead that didn't understand tact.
She grabbed the bucket from the kitchen and decided to fill up the water tank. After all, with the increased need of boiled water, it didn't take long to almost bottom out.
After the chores had been completed the two sat down and ate together. A simple breakfast with some eggs and steamed buns. Yesterday they had ploughed the ground of Raze's fields and today they'd have to plant the wheat seeds, so they both made sure to have enough to eat to keep them going to lunch.
However a guest came over at this time, that put a wrench in the works. A young woman that shared some similarity shouted from the front gate.
"Cousin?"
