A/N: Did anyone ask for tension during a sparing match followed by a heart to heart? No? Well, you're getting it anyways. XD As promised, here's some William and Jane content.

Hope you all enjoy and make sure to leave a like and comment! ^-^

Beneath her bare feet, Jane wiggled her toes along the smooth leather of the gym mats. It had been quite awhile since she last found herself in a sparing ring and she realized how much she missed the familiarity of it all.

She gave an experimental bounce on the balls of her feet, feeling how the material warped and pushed from the pressure. Closing her eyes, she gave herself a moment to listen and focus on the sounds of footsteps; of the rattling gym equipment and idle chatter.

It was a habit she had subconsciously started doing; mentally cataloging things and what they entailed.

Originally it was overwhelming. Having to go from being deprived of variety and her basic senses to full exposure was a difficult adjustment.

So this helped her.

Whenever she found herself in familiar situations and places, she allowed herself to get reacquainted with all that came with it.

Opening her eyes again, she heard a set of footsteps get closer and she turned to face them.

"Jane, you ready to get started?"

From behind her, William ducked under the ropes, holding two sets of gloves as promised.

Jane had no idea how she ended up in this situation. But, she couldn't be too upset about it.

After all, it was hard to say no to William when he had a good point.

But, it was still interesting how she was now at the gym, her husband helping her get boxing gloves on as they prepared for a mini sparing match between the two of them.

Recovery was slow, even for Jane's standards. She had been slow to move her legs around again, she had been slow to start walking again, and she had been slow to start exercising again.

Cameron always joked that she constantly ran behind on everything, but this was ridiculous.

Still, after over 10 years of that hell, it was expected by everyone that she would need time to get herself back into something that could be considered normal. But that didn't mean Jane hated it any less. She tended to push herself during physical therapy exercises, people often having to remind her to take it easy and take her time.

However, that was never Jane's style to begin with. She liked to move quickly and have her swift reflexes. Faster and harder was her motto growing up and learning the in's and out's of life. She may have been a god tier, but she took pride in her combat skills outside of her Channel Mastery.

So now, she was in a slump. Her physical therapy had already ended and now the rest of the work was up to her. Only she didn't know where to start.

That's when William came up with a brilliant idea. She could go by the local gym with him and they could get her back up to speed with boxing and martial arts again like they used to do in high school. It would be familiar territory for her and it was something she yearned to do again.

It was funny in a way. She had been the one to teach William combat and somehow, the roles were reversed now.
