THERE WAS NO NUMBER OF SUPERHERO MOVIES THAT COULD'VE PREPARED JEONGWOO FOR A SITUATION LIKE THIS. he liked to think that in the case of a zombie apocalypse, he'd be on the front lines to keep everyone safe but as he looks in between in his friends, he realizes that might not be the complete truth.
jeongwoo had managed to catch up with riki and dani, finding them just outside of the cafeteria and affectively pairing up with them as they all scaled the ladder into a classroom, the ground level being far too dangerous to try and escape the school grounds by foot.
thankfully, the classroom they had landed in was as safe as possible, with haruto and yoonah (the class president) being the only ones in the room, having boarded up the doors and windows with chairs and desks.
"oh man, i never thought i'd be so happy to see your ugly mug," jeongwoo gasps as he pulls himself over the window.
haruto rolls his eyes but the two embrace nonetheless and the true intention behind jeongwoo's words is not hard to find.
"do you guys know if we can get out of here?" haruto says, nodding at the scene outside. riki shakes his head, gulping down the bile rising in his throat from the sheer amount of running around they were experiencing.
"not if it means we have to cut through the school grounds - it's a mess down there. i honestly think that the higher up, the lower the risk of running into a zombie as of right now," riki says, exchanging a look with jeongwoo.
"that means our only option is going airborne," yoonah says flatly, staring down at the swarm of zombies surrounding and biting at students on the grounds. from the second floor, the zombies didn't seem as frightening but one look to her left with the zombies pounding against the glass separating them from the unturned students inside was enough to make even her stone cold heart shake a little.
"right, let me just go summon my own helicopter," riki says, rolling his eyes. yoonah blinks at him, unsurprised but disappointed nonetheless.
"to do that, we'd need phones. which means that we've gotta get to the principal's office to get our cell phones somehow," yoonah continues, seemingly unfazed.
"you know i don't actually have a helicopter, right?" riki deadpans, looking to haruto for help. haruto just shrugs, looking around the room for helpful weapons.
"fuck that. if we get our phones, i'll buy you a helicopter once we get out of this thing," haruto says, ripping a pvc pipe clean out of the side of the room, where it had been already been half broken, likely from a zombie (or multiple) ramming into the side of the room hapahazardly.
"at least if we have our phones, we'll be able to alert someone with a helicopter, mr. underclassman. like, oh i don't know, the government?" jeongwoo says light-heartedly, but the silent message is evident: don't question your seniors. not now. not when the trust in those who know more than they did were the only things they could hold onto at the moment.
"wait," dani whispers, her red-rimmed eyes meeting with haruto's worried ones. "where's the rest of our group?"

"god, i really hope that they're having better luck than we are," hiyyih grunts, using a coin she had found on the floor as a screwdriver to unscrew the metal legs of the table to use a weapon.
"we're in a zombie apocalypse, hiyyih," nari says drily. "i really doubt that there's much good luck going around for anyone."
"do you think anyone is coming to save us?" one of the second years in the room pipes up from where two of them were hovering over the window, gauging if any of the zombies could somehow try and get inside the classroom through one of the escape ladders stationed around the school.
