YOONAH DESPISES THE FACT THAT SHE TURNS TO JEONGWOO AFTER EVERYONE MAKES IT INSIDE SAFELY. she shouldn't - he was her fiancé, after all - but she never seemed to find it in herself to truly make acquaintances with him. he had everything that yoonah didn't have.
natural charm. a friendly personality. talent that he refused to acknowledge. friends that would die for him. parents who actually cared what happened to their son. not their asset.
although she wasn't sure about that last part if they had effectively sold jeongwoo off to her family in the name of "family betterment". yoonah didn't even know what that meant.
"do you see a first aid kit anywhere?" the question is general, directed to everyone in the room but yoonah's eyes never stray from jeongwoo's. haruto shakes his head, commanding her attention once more.
"i'll be fine. i might need a new shirt though," haruto grimaces, looking at the gaping hole in his shirt.
"shut up," nari snaps, never moving a muscle from where she was sitting. "you need to bandage that thing and we need to put you under observation for at least a half hour."
"i thought you said he wouldn't turn?" riki says, his eyebrows furrowed as jungwon examined haruto's wound a little bit closer. nari was right; the graze from the zombies was shallow, his shirt clearly having taken most of the damage. the scratch itself wasn't bleeding heavily (which was a good sign) but having an open wound in the middle of a zombie apocalypse would be a less wise decision.
"let's find some way to bandage the wound first and then we can think about a new shirt," yoonah says finally, before leaning over to get haruto to shrug his uniform's jacket off of his body.
"whoa, at least ask me on a date if you want to get my clothes off!" haruto exclaims as he shies away from her touch but yoonah just rolls her eyes. even so, the statement brings a warmth in her cheeks that she's never quite experienced before, intriguing her heavily. haruto offers her a lopsided smile and yoonah's tempted to smile back but jeongwoo clears his throat awkwardly.
"it's not like that," yoonah says, although she's not really sure who she's justifying herself to. "if you take off your jacket, i can take your shirt off and we can use it as bandage while everyone else finds you a shirt. for safety reasons."
riki fights to keep a smirk off his face before he catches a look at dani's face, which had fallen as she examined the floor studiously with a sullen expression. his heart pangs in his chest but he claps his hands, wincing when the sound was louder than he had intended.
"alright crew, let's get some water to wash out the wound and a new shirt for mr. lover boy over here," riki says in a tone that's more upbeat than he's feeling. two of the second years in the corner (they looked like jungwon was holding them in time-out for some reason) nod, before one of them raises a good point.
"this classroom should be right above the nurses office if i remember correctly," the taller one begins, walking over to one of the windows. he tries to lean over but the swarm of zombies wandering around the field behind them seemed to keep him from looking down fully.
"what if two of us went down to the nurse's office and then another two went to the principal's office?" the shorter one continues, spreading his hands out as if he were revealing his hand of cards.
"to do what? get yourselves killed?" jeongwoo snorts. "i don't think it's a bad idea per se but i don't think it's safe to let you second years go down by yourselves."
"i'll go," haruto volunteers, and jungwon nods determinedly.
"i'll go with him," he echoes, looking at nari to see if she would protest but she just gives him a grim nod, and looks down at hyewon.
