The Unsheathed Blade

(Make sure to drop a review; it helps a lot!)

She was surrounded by them, her body strained and her complexion pale, as she was slowly approached by two hungry and desperate hounds.

Her entire body screamed in pain as she readied her hands on a traditional katana, her legs and arms exhausted, and she narrowed her eyes desperately.

Then, the two Houndour pounced, and her entire body tensed up as she unsheathed the katana. A gust of wind hindered the Houndour, which caught the canine Pokemon by surprise.

The teenage girl disappeared when the wind dissipated, and in a flash, the Houndour was sent flying by multiple, swift slashes.

The attacks served to dissuade the desperate dogs, and they fled in obvious pain.

Her entire body continued to ache as she sheathed the katana, emotionless as she continued to walk through the forest.

Line break

Nick sighed as he collapsed onto his bed; he had just finished a phone call with Janice and Ren, and they were, to say the least, livid.

He remembered something as he sank into the comforts of the bedsheets.

"Wait, didn't Gardenia say she was going to revoke my trainer's license if I ran away?"

"And... didn't I run away?"

Nick hastily jumped out of bed, but he quickly calmed himself down.

"If my trainer's license was revoked, I would've already been notified!"

Nick heard a knock on his room door, and he quickly went to answer it.

"Yoo, Nick!" Omnis the Porygon-2, who was hovering above Calvin, greeted him.

"Gardenia said she wanted to see you!" Calvin said, "She didn't say why, but I think you should meet her; she said it was urgent and told me to tell you to meet her at the statues."

Nick sighed, "Of course, she will. Just my typical luck; I just had to jinx it!"

"Alright, I'll be there." "Cal after I'm done; let's talk about that little trick you've got," Nick said.

He made his way out of the poke center. He felt a cold breeze; it was getting close to fall, which means the cold weather had crept up to even the warmer sides of Sinnoh, where Eterna City was located.

His head still ached from the piercing yells of Janice, who had gotten quite emotional and even more furious than usual.

He walked for a few minutes, unsure of what to expect until he came to a halt in front of the two massive statues of the legendary Pokemon Dialga and Palkia.

Gardenia stood in the middle of the two statues, observing the golden statues with familiarity.

"You're finally here, boy," Gardenia said, turning her head towards Nick, her complexion completely pale and without the usual, kind smile.

Instead, she had a grim atmosphere; this side of Gardenia was almost entirely unknown to him, but he still nodded.

"Your decisions were highly foolish, and you completely disregarded the commands of a gym leader, instead charging brashly into combat." Gardenia said, "You could've very easily gotten yourself killed."

"Normally, it wouldn't warrant a revocation of a trainer's license," Gardenia admitted, much to Nick's surprise. "I only said that to potentially scare you out of being on the frontlines."
