"I believe that life is hard. That we all are going to walk through things that are hard and challenging, and yet advertising wants us to believe that it's all easy."

"Are you sure you don't need any more help Mari? You know I can call over daddy and his friends to finish helping you move."  My older sister , Fatima asked me over the phone.
I had my airpods in my ear, as I held the last moving box in my arms while waiting for the elevator , in the lobby.

I sighed and shifted my weight into my left leg, "I'm okay Fatima, I literally have the last box in my arms. I told you that I got it. Plus EJ will be here soon to help me unpack." I reassured her.

A loud ding indicated that the elevator had arrived to the lobby floor. I stood up straight when the doors slowly opened, I slowly walked into the elevator and pushed the floor my new apartment was on. As I waited for doors to close I heard a voice yelling,

"Hey! Hey! Hold the elevator please!"

I quickly stuck my foot out to stop the doors from shutting and held the doors open with my leg as I patiently waited for the owner of the voice walk into the elevator and my jaw dropped.

THE Michael B. Jordan was in the same elevator as me. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I didn't realize Fatima was yelling at me in my ears, before he cleared his throat before thanking me for holding the doors.

He pressed the same lit up number, before standing next to me and pulled out his phone.

"KAMARIA! BITCH YOU BETTER ANSWER ME!" Fatima yelled.

"Yooo, chilllll. I'm good. Let me call you back though." I quickly said before tapping my AirPod, hanging up on her before she could say anything else.

Michael was texting away on his phone as the elevator stopped on the floor and the doors opened. He quickly placed his phone into his pocket, before gesturing me to go first.

I thanked him before walking out of the elevator.

"Excuse me!" he yelled out to me. I turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow. Highly nervous.

"U-uh, yes?" I asked, shifting my weight, trying to hold the semi-heavy box.

"You need help?" he asked while staring at the box in my hands. I shyly smiled and nodded. "Could you please?" I asked.

He smiled and chuckled.

'Lord, Jesus... Am I being pranked?' I thought as he gently took the box from my hands.

"Thank you so much, you really didn't have to. I was almost to my door." I stated before reaching into my back pocket for my keys.

"It's no problem at all. The box looks kind of heavy." He said as we walked towards my door. Once we walked up, he looked at my door with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, shit. YOU'RE my new neighbor. If I would've known, I've would've brought you a welcome gift." He voiced with a small smile.
