Cycle: Kai Anderson x Reader

Suddenly: Chapter III:

Life changes suddenly without explanation or warning
and you're expected to adjust

I heard loud breathing and something touch my body softly. Someone slowly uncovered the blanket from my face, I quickly checked who it was then went back to sleep, it was Kai.

Kai's fingertips trailed across my skin delicately as our eyes met in a sudden moment.

*"Sorry y/n"* he realised he had been caught, he took a few steps back. *"why.. are you here?"*.
*"one of my coworkers were getting aggressive and Winter helped me"* I tried to not to exaggerate the situation since I felt like I was going to die when that happened yesterday.

*"I figured it would be safe if I just slept here"* I tried to sound more honest and hoped he would understand how I felt.
*"If it makes you feel more safe you can stay here more often?"* he said it like he was demanding it but it was more of a question. *"thank you"*.

*"Winter made breakfast, if you want some"*
*"that would be nice, and thank you for being so understanding about this"* I didn't know how to express my gratitude but I tried my best to.

He nodded and walked me to the kitchen, I followed and thanked his sister who handed me a plate with pancakes on it.

I sat down at the table that Kai brought me to and he sat across from me, this food looked really nice. There was 2 pancakes with whipped cream and blueberries on top. It seemed like Kai was enjoying the food.

*"who was being aggressive?"* Kai questioned,
*"just a coworker, named William"* I replied.
Why did he want to know?
He continued eating and stared through the window but this time he looked more focused.

*"whats the time?"* I asked, I couldn't be late to work. *"11:45"*he replied. *"oh no.. Kai I'm late I'm sorry"* I started to get up. He said bye and I started running I didn't even get my shoes on properly. I probably looked really dumb, as I started running I almost fell.

When I got to work I didn't see Rose and made it look like I was working the whole time, Rose didn't say anything. *"where's William?"* I said. *"I'm here, did you miss me?"* William was disgusting. I rolled my eyes at his response. I got worried at the thought of the cycle starting again.

I worked and served customers normally, until 1:30pm I got my phone a messaged Kai. 'can I stay at your house tomorrow?'. I didn't get a response but he had read the message. Today was a bad day I kept working until 8:34pm I sat down and ordered some coffee. William served it but the coffee tasted weird, I felt more tired and heard a bell around the door ring.

I couldn't turn around, suddenly everything was to bright and I felt my whole body go numb I couldn't move anything, I couldn't stop myself from falling, I could barely see I could hear though. I heard a loud thud, footsteps then a voice. My eyes were half open but I couldn't move so they stayed the same, I saw Kai. *"y/n!"* I had never heard him so upset. *"are you okay??!"* he started rambling from there I couldn't hear him well but he said something like 'my fault' a few times. I saw a dark red substance drip down my head past my eye but it didn't hurt for some reason. I wish I could comfort him. He lifted me up and started bringing me somewhere. I saw the roof of a car and even though I didn't know the speed limit all I knew is he was going too fast. After a while he stopped and I heard a females voice, Winter. They both picked me up and put me on the couch in the basement.
Kai sat next to me but since the couch was occupied he sat on the floor.
He then started talking to himself about what happened. He said that he should've got there and if he did this wouldn't never happened, and he felt like it was all his fault. He took my hand and squeezed it *"i'm so sorry y/n"*

He looked at me for a bit then rested his head on the couch, although he had greasy hair he looked really good. I couldn't help but stare with my remaining sight, it's like I was conscious but couldn't move only blink and breathe.

His brown eyes looked dangerous but seeing him care for me so much made it feel they were more protective, he looked like a model but most models usually don't have dyed hair. I felt my eyes close as I imagined.. things.

I woke up to see doors I opened them but that only led to more doors this repeated for what seemed like hours. My arms were in front of myself until someone was holding one of my hands, *"please be okay"* I heard a man whisper, his hand was warm and relaxing to touch. I silently gasped for air as I actually opened my eyes, in real life. I looked around for a bit to see Kai on the floor holding my hand, I slowly moved up and away from the hot blanket.
It seemed like he hadn't slept the whole night.
I felt sorry for him. I felt like I was wearing tight clothes, I could move but it felt uncomfortable. I had another dream, it was fuzzy and now it felt like a distant memory, but I could still vividly remember Kai's voice from it.

I missed home but that didn't mean there was anything wrong him Kai's house. *"sorry that I didn't reply to your message, I was coming to the shop to tell you that you could, my phone died"* he seemed genuinely sorry.. but it wasn't his fault at all. I wish I could just hug him but it would hurt to move a lot.

He didn't deserve this sadness, he said it was his fault when it was all my fault. I think I needed to sleep for a few more hours before I 'woke up'.
